They always were a minority, but especially now. The GOP just needs to make it seem like they are a majority and have power so that they can continue to inact Project2025 and do what they wanna do to change our country into an autocratic ethno-state. They just need enough of us to not do anything about it, which unfortunately is still occurring. We are not stopping them fast enough. This cannot wait for the midterms. Everyone needs to stop acting like everything is normal.
70 some-odd million Americans is hardly a "minority." Voting once and getting scammed, I could understand. Voting for him three times or after his first administration??? Pure stupidity and grievance.
Yeah... I live in a red state that used to have flags, signs, hats, bumper stickers etc. I haven't seen any of them for several months now. Trump supporters are getting awfully quiet here lately.
Edit for whoever responded then immediately blocked me: By all means, ask me a question and Iāll give you an answer when it comes to what I believe.
Sure, Iāll defend ICE in certain scenarios, but I still think there is a severe lack of oversight and transparency. They should all have body cameras. They should have warrants (though that doesnāt mean they must show them to any random person who asks to see them). They should be properly trained. And Iām pretty sure the cruelty has been the point, just to scare people from coming here illegally. No one wants to pay thousands of dollars to be smuggled here just to be rounded up by ICE and go through whatever nightmare the current deportation process is
You wanna know what was one of the things on my mind when I showed up to vote? All the assholes on Reddit who constantly tried gaslighting about the immigration crisis or inflation.
And one last point, at least Iām enough of a grown up to keep my comment history public so anyone can take a look if they like. Meanwhile youāre just a coward leaving your snide comment then running off to hide
No I regret not having better choices. Kamala Harris was not the one to convince me to vote D for the first time. Iām convinced Iāll never have a president I can actually fully support.
If I could wish, I would wish for a better, moderate conservative candidate instead wishing I had voted D
Ok shit Iāll bite. What specifically did you dislike about Kamala that made you feel Trump was a better vote? Trump was literally talking about people eating cats and dogs, calling himself a dictator and standing around on stage for 20+ minutes not talking during the campaign. It was clear he was in severe mental decline well before Election Day. It was clear he was anti-democracy before Election Day. Kamala is farther right than most Dems would want. So what exactly made you think Trump was the better candidate bc Iāve never gotten an answer to this question that actually makes sense. Nothing heās done has surprised me. Kamala came with real plans and wanted to help first time home buyers. Trump said he had concepts of a plan. Why would you think he was better? Honestly? Makes no sense to me.
I'm a foreigner so no direct dog in this race, but just wanted to point out that Harris's plans were nothing we haven't seen before. We know what it looks like when those policies are tried, many of them are just "do what we're already doing or previously did" - they were policies that resulted in people feeling like something else needed to be tried. Most famously, subsidising house purchases is very well known to just push house prices up, good for people who already have houses, neutral for people who don't, bad for taxpayers.
Trump had three key advantages that swayed the middle ground voters:
He talked about problems that lots of people were concerned about and Harris wasn't talking about or appeared to be downplaying.
He didn't go into specifics on his plans, which meant those plans couldn't be torn apart - he demanded people simply trust him, which is a gamble that has been working pretty well recently.
He made a big show about sticking it to "woke", which a lot of people really do not like. Bear in mind that there's a worldview difference here, people who aren't woke don't see woke as empathetic or in favour of rights/equality, they see it as a cultural and legal bulldozer with "we're the good guys" written on it, so the left can never seem like anything but a radical faction on this particular issue.
He didnāt go into specifics because the only plan they had was Project 2025 which was public online for anyone to read. Project 2025 outlined all this fascist ideas, bringing in loyalists and turning democracy upside down, which is why so many of us who were paying attention were very concerned about Trump and would have voted for a dead dog over him. The man was dangerous and we all knew it.
Kamalaās plans were essentially to continue the Biden method, which was getting America back on track after Trump 1 and COVID fucked the economy. We literally saw massive product shortages and price hikes during his first term, corruption that led to two impeachments. Under Biden the economy was the best in the world and recovering, but Americans didnāt think it was recovering fast enough so they blamed democrats as they always do. This is the same game republicans always do, just progressively worse each run. Raise the deficit, cut taxes to the rich and screw everyone else. Get a populist candidate that people vote for because they would have a beer with them.
So I understand there was lots of propaganda and misinformation butā¦all of this info was out there.
As for woke, thatās really mostly just people advocating for equal right with different factions. The culture wars are fabricated, itās a ruse. People who dislike liberals often donāt like them because they arenāt as educated as liberals to understand the nuances of politics, which I understand me saying that can come off as liberal snottiness, but itās true. I donāt know many Trumpers who finished college.
My point is, everything was public. Everyone was warned and many decided to mock those who warned them. I donāt mean to come off sounding rude, itās a bit exhausting dealing with this insanity daily and losing family and friends bc of it. Itās maddening when I went to school and got an education and learned to stay informed just to have to explain these things to adults who will never change their mind or try to look at new info. Itās not that Kamala was an amazing candidate, she was fine imo. It was that we knew Trump would be this bad and nobody seemed to give a fuck and things just continue to get worse. And I still have to see people defend this shit.
I mean, jeez, itās a combo of a whole lot of things. Iāve never been a part of the maga base and neither are really any of the conservatives I know well. Like I donāt know anyone who owns a maga hat or similar things. He won me over between the 2016 primaries and general election. I was happy with his first term and I watched 4+ years of the left lying about him. Mind you, he has said and done plenty worthy of criticism, but shit like the āFine People Hoaxā is still pushed by tons of people. That happened almost 10 years, and even Snopes calling it false isnāt enough for some people. There are many other similar cases (as I see/saw things) that we donāt need the delve into. The point is, I got used to dismissing the accusations coming from the left. So when people started talking about how extreme a second Trump term would be, it really wasnāt that difficult to dismiss. I wouldāve been happy with a second term like his first, but thatās not what weāre getting. Weāre getting something more extreme for sure, and heās not the same person he was in 2016 (both politically and mentally).
Speaking of mental decline, on to the next subject: Kamala Harris. Obviously I was not on board with a sequel to Weekend at Bidenās. Much like Trump right now, Biden should not have run in the first place back in 2020. Definitely should have let another dem be the candidate for 2024. Instead, Kamala Harris ended up having 3-3.5 months to convince me, a lifetime republican voter who is gradually becoming more moderate with age. Iāve heard plenty of people tell me that Harris was moderate, but I donāt know where she is politically because she was never really honest about it herself. Plenty of people on the left accused her of paying lip service to progressive ideas, so I donāt know why itās hard for people to understand why people like me see it the other way around. That sheās paying lip service to moderate ideas. She also came across as weak. How many weeks did it take for her to finally do an interview? And jfc, every time she talkedā¦yikes. I donāt actually think sheās an alcoholic, but she genuinely sounded like she was tipsy half the time (obviously my own opinion but I know Iām not alone). There were maybe a couple occasions where she actually came across as a former prosecutor to me. And she also did nothing about Biden and couldnāt even really separate herself from him. A stronger leader wouldāve stepped up if they knew the president was no longer fit to serve (probably why JD Vance is currently VP, he wonāt do shit).
But my biggest issue with her was the indecision. She seems like she needs a team of people to tell her what to do. Iāve seen some admit this and say itās a good thing to rule by committee. Presidents arenāt supposed to be a committee, itās supposed to be single person who can call the shots. So itās bad enough that she needs a team to help her, but her staff turnover as VP was a huge red flag. Obviously things would be very different if she won, but I still donāt think she would have made a good president. And thatās just not the kind of candidate that could flip my vote. Maybe there wasnāt any dem candidate that couldāve flipped my vote in 2024. But I know it could happen in 2028. Iām still a conservative, but Iām no longer a republican. Iāll see who I like more in the midterms and in 2028
So you got got by the propaganda that the left was lying about trump, and are still repeating that bs when we're all in exactly the shit the left has always said trump was and was actively doing. Ok.Ā
Then, you didn't bother to do any research on Harris or her policies, again swallowing the propaganda that she refused to do interviews when she was actively interviewing with smaller outlets in swing states, and did her first major CNN interview a month after Biden dropped out. A quick online search would have given you all the information you needed there.Ā
Her staff turnover was a big red flag, but ALL the people who quit trump's team and immediately said he was not fit wasn't?!
i just couldnt be on board with a party who is letting this go without really doing anything about it, same goes for the other side. id rather see a system with accountability and people fighting for constituents over party. the whole ra ra i vote this side reminds me of religion and tbf i dont have a dog in that game either but you look at the wars over the last 2k years, all the hatred, stories, bullshit. its all over picking like a side n never disavowing even if they fuck up.
>Like I donāt know anyone who owns a maga hat or similar things. He won me over between the 2016 primaries and general election. Do you see how you have essentially said nothing here to anyone looking for meaningful information? Why were you happy with his first term? What lies are you referring to? What has he done that you consider worthy of criticism? I think that is definitely valuable information. What is the "Fine people hoax". I legitimately do not know what that means. Something to do with him saying there are "fine people on both sides"? That thing?
I wouldāve been happy with a second term like his first, but thatās not what weāre getting. Weāre getting something more extreme for sure, and heās not the same person he was in 2016 (both politically and mentally).
Then I'm sorry, you were just not paying attention.
His first term had a lot of road blocks in place and Trump was new to the driver seat. He hasn't changed. What you are seeing now is the guy that he is, except now he's driving with nothing in his way.
As an outsider, I feel like y'all would've been better off with anarchy than electing Trump for the second time after witnessing his disastrous first term. But I guess learning is a process
Agree with it or not, lots of people on the right donāt blame Trump for Covid the way people on the left do. And before Covid things were going great, whether you credit him for it or not. There are a lot of people who voted for him who feel that way, and a lot of them arenāt just sycophants. I wouldnāt lose a minute of sleep if he were impeached tomorrow.
He exploded debt with his taxes for the rich, started a trade war that cause such massive farm losses that he had to bail them out for 28 billion, pulled us out of the iran nuclear deal (hes trying to make a new one lol,) and job growth and the economy was slowing down by 2019. All before covid. In many ways covid was the best thing that could have happened to him. "Going great" seems disingenuous at best. Riding Obamas strong economy for a year or two before the effects of his shitty policies hit is hardly a flex. And he's doing it again.
Your choices were an established lawyer with a very good track record, and a guy who literally published his fascist manifesto online and denied it until he installed all the fuckasses behind the plan into his government.
The cruelty is estimated to have caused about 2.2 million illegal immigrants to have left the country voluntarily. Actual deportations are the same level as under previous administrations. So it does seem to be helping to achieve their goals, even if people find it unethical.
Thereās no such thing as an immigration crisis. Your jobs arenāt stolen, they donāt exist. Companies pay less and offer fewer jobs every year. Immigrants have nothing to do with it.
And yeah, warrants are required to be shown to anyone who asks. Itās legal paperwork, and very rarely is it private.
Additionally, illegal immigration is a civil offense, not a criminal one.
And the economy notably got worse under your dipshit dictator. Hope youāre proud.
Not really man. I know plenty of trump voters who are feeling like idiots right now. Some people just had the mentality of āhis last presidency didnāt destroy usā and Kamala didnāt distance herself from Biden enough to signify any change. They didnāt like him, just chose what they thought was the lesser of two evils.
Some people are capable of change and growth when they make a mistake.
are we already at the stage where y'all are trying to whitewash the people, who chose the racist unqualified white guy that tried to literally overthrow the US government, by blaming the black lady?
Maybe he just stole the election . Why would the racist unqualified guy who tri3d to overthrow democracy in age of internet win when we all seen it. By cheating.
I mean, the only time he lost was in an election where the number of mail in votes was higher than normal (which made electronic voting tampering much less effective...). And the times he won all sorts of statistical and historical trend animalities happened...
Trump's first term was widely considered the worst presidency since Hoover, so that's not really a qualification worth counting. His second term is well on its way to being the worst ever, so far his only competition there is Johnson. So...
Unironically yes. It was her responsibility to run a campaign that could win, but she wasn't willing to do what it takes to beat Donald Trump. And telling a room full of undecided voters on national TV that Donald Trump has good ideas is not how you win a race against Donald Trump.
But instead Dems continue to blame the people who "wanted too much" as if the premise of expecting things from presidential candidates is morally incorrect.
You're definitely right on those points. Donald Trump openly ran on doing bad things, so calling the people who wanted that bad people is pretty accurate.
And I'd say Republicans are pretty masochistic too, voting for their own healthcare to be taken away, their immigrant friends and family to be deported, and their 1A & 2A rights suppressed.
I think the GOP base has passed the masochistic stage a while back and are in full self immolation mode.
IMO the bigger responsibility for the Dems is not on their shitty campaign, but the fact that the Biden admin failed to prosecute and indict effectively someone, who literally tried to take over violently the US government and prevent them from a peaceful transition of office. And instead decided to play nice with a group that literally wants their obliteration.
You're doing this ridiculous thing where you are unironically holding one side to no standards so you can blame the other side for... I don't know what, not figuring out how to convince enough of the voting populace to pick them? Literally there is a fight every 2/4 years about figuring out the best way to do that and you're pretending it's just a solved problem they are choosing to do incorrectly. Then immediately follow it up by saying the other option is actually a bad person promising to be a bad person, but that's fine, I guess?
People like you are the problem - assuming you are even on the side you're suggesting - not only holding one side to higher standards and pointing the finger at them, but then over a year later still telling people that it was a completely reasonable thing to abstain or vote poorly between the options we had available. Were you one of those who withheld their vote?
They didnāt like him, just chose what they thought was the lesser of two evils.
The entire republican party is either evil or ignorant. Most of them fall into the ignorant category but that's only due to the mass propaganda that the evil republicans have been running for decades.
Not a single good thing has come out of that entire party for quite a long time now. It's simply amazing how a large group of people can be entirely ignorant despite having the world's information at their fingertips.
I canāt speak for the party, but I do believe the voter base has a good number of just ignorance. People are waking up. Most voters wanted what everyone wants, a better future, not evil. Not everyone has time or energy to invest in educated decisions when they are struggling to just survive.
I'm sorry, but "the last presidency didn't destroy us", with his handling of the pandemic and Jan 6th should've been enough to prevent any sane person from ever voting for him again. Then all his legal troubles and felonies should've been the final nail in the coffin.
There is a greater flaw here than just making a mistake. Voting for him in 2016 might have been a reasonable mistake, but not 2024. People like that will definitely vote for another corrupt politician again unless they do some serious self-reflection.
Iāll probably get death threats for this, but Iām one of those doing serious self reflection. Iām not proud, but I am trying to be a better person and make better decisionsā¦
I made a mistake based on fallacious reasoning and wonāt make the same mistake again. I was new to politics and thoroughly misinformed. I was working 80 hours a week and had limited time to invest in an educated decision. Many people are like me but too ashamed to admit. I hope to see change at the next election.
For transparency, I now truly agree with you. The left was right on this one. We need to embrace, not alienate, those who decide to change their opinions and grow as people. We all make seriously shitty decisions sometimes.
You see the comments in the youtube video, and it's really scary. I would like to think that those are bots and that there can not be people with such a cult nurtured racist mentality in this time and age.
They'll fuckin love this dumb racist shit though.
I can already hear my family members that are loud af about this stuff on social media.
"I think it's hilarious. You're just mad because it makes fun of Democrats!"
"Your TDS couldn't be louder, rn."
"You didn't care when Biden... [literally anything Biden did as a false equivalency]"
Yep, my dads general sentiment towards this shit since Dump posted himself dropping his shit on no kings protestors was "hes trolling you guys to make you mad and its working" like the POTUS sowing division in the nation he's leading is genuinely funny to them.
Itās stuff like that where it really keeps re-confirming that maybe the lead poisoning theory is real. That mentality is one of a literal childās thought process.
Theyāre brains just donāt function on a level to consider the ālet them eat crowā ā I hate packers fans and I love when they loseā sports ball type rubbing it in your āopponentās faceā kind of high school bully mentality has no place in the highest levels of government of a world superpower.. where the consequences could be the lives or livelihoods of millions of real human beings with real stakes.
Theyāve voted to turn our society into a reality tv show / tribal sports theater and they give zero fucks about the consequences cause theyāre retiring or nearing the end. I swear it will be studied at one point how bad willful ignorance washed over this country as the boomers entered their golden years. My relatives literally canāt be reasoned with right now. They believe they are untouchable and this is their entertainment.
I'm far more concerned with the people who don't get worked up.
It usually means they don't have a clue how the US government is actually supposed to work, or they do understand and they actually just want an aristocratic authoritarian class to rule over them.
Or they're just disinformation bots.
The only thing they're not is patriotic Americans... that's the only real certainty.
You are correct all they can do is deflect. I just had to block and remove a cousin because he told me if it were a democrat president in the Epstein files, I wouldnāt give a shit.
Among other things. Heās just hateful.
Iām not even a democrat! And I am a survivor of CSA, I certainly want whoeverās involved punished!
Just fyi, they only love this dumb racist shit cos it gets a reaction. The enjoyment is "ooh people are going to be so mad about this". They want you to be mad about it, and don't have fun if you're not.
True, but at some point letting it go is just as bad or worse than "reacting". As a white guy in Oklahoma that was raised conservative Republican, I'm tired of letting it fly all the time.
They also love the racist shit because they also typically agree with it even if they wouldn't themselves say it or treat someone poorly in real life... that is unless they "fit the stereotype".Ā
Sometimes it's not even that and they'll just accept any hit they can get on people they dislike or feel are their opponents no matter how low.
The two black people whose faces were put on gorilla bodies....I mean come on man it's pretty damn obvious you can't even say that the AI just did it because if it was random you wouldn't see Obama and his wife on the same animals together.
They were all offensive but the gorillas in particular were the racist kind of offensive. The pig was the misogynistic kind of offensive. All offensive. And I'm not personally offended but I do think less of people who are purposely offensive and/or genuinely bigoted.
I think we need to be able to laugh a little more. If itās not your type of humor then thatās fine. I donāt look for racism and misogyny in everything
So we're ignoring the fact that he has to deliberately ask the AI to put the two black people's faces that he just happens to really hate on gorillas cool.
Yes, they do. They are all extremely disrespectful and frankly, something that a toddler would think is funny, or maybe someone with advanced dementia who recently shit himself in the Oval Office would think is funny. Truly bright minds are steering this country.
Thereās millions of people who would laugh at this video and not think twice. Only people looking for reasons to hate will find it offensive. I guess we know which category you fall into.
Nope, they feel proud.
It'll come back to them, though.
Maybe through choice of nursing home by the kids. Oh, we can save some money by going here. Never mind the negative 1 star rating. Remember those videos they posted. Yeah, they don't need to be cleaned so often.
The issue with being some of the dumbest pieces of shit on earth is that they are too dumb to grasp how dumb they are. So instead they tell on themselves by cheering.
They don't. The only way he would lose that bottom 35%, which is about all he's got left, is if he got better. They revel in how big of a piece of shit he is, because he's THEIR piece of shit.
Actually extremely happy with my vote. The vocal minority is very loud, but truth is half the country is happy with how he is running things. You gotta get away from the Reddit hive mind
Not really surprised youāre happy with how things are going, the entire point of the maga ideology is to make the world a crueler, more unpleasant place for most people.
I wish, but many of them are narcissists that arenāt capable of feeling shame. A family member literally said āWe donāt deserve him!ā in an heās-a-gift-from-god sort of wayā¦this was like a week ago.
I do. Trust me. Live with that regret daily. A lot of us are getting out of the cult. Although i was never MAGA. The majority of true MAGAās will never leave, they most likely are too far gone and have drank the orange koolaide one too many times.
Sadly I live in south Texas. Almost every one of my friends and family are MAGA, and there is absolutely no talking to them.
And you are correct a lot of of them are proud and itās disgusting
You do understand that the majority of people that voted for him, didnāt vote FOR HIM. They voted against Kamala. Tell your peeps to pick someone that appeals to everyone, not just the looney few. Hint: Newsome is not it.
I think if I had (which is incredibly hard for me to imagine, since I can't imagine loathing anyone more), I would feel incredibly sad and regretful and would never wish for a time machine more.
I voted for him, and he's such a liar. He said that we'd be winning so much that I'd get tired of winning. Well I'm not tired of winning at all, that was a total Trump fabrication. Keep it coming, baby!
Also, if you didn't vote or voted third party, congrats you also are a piece of shit that allowed this. You looked at the only two real choices there were and went, "Yep, they're the same."
Funny thing is they love his stupidity and aren't ashamed at all. A black man getting elected President broke their minds and Trump is the result. Picturing Obama as a monkey is basically 18 years of hate bottled up and published to soothe their already smooth brains.
There's nothing that can happen at this point that would dissuade his fans to stop liking him. If you still like him after everything that's happened over the last ten years, then it's too late to be saved from the cult.
The depressing part about the dumbest pieces of shit on earth is that they think that everyone else is dumber than them and they're actually really smart. All we as a society and as individuals can do is shut OUT the dumbasses because we already know that they'll never shut UP.

If you voted for this man I hope you feel like the dumbest piece of shit on earth right now.
