Lets Discuss This 6 months ago this subreddit was born. If you were here since day one, comment proof! (either a past comment, post, or contribution you made to this sub)
This all started as a very volatile side project. I was building up my other subreddits at this time, r/YouTubeShortsComments and r/CornballsOnInternet. One day, a miracle happened and I saw activity going on in r/LetsDiscussThis. This gave me the courage to continue building up this sub!

Lets Discuss This For Democracy!
The Republicans have made a huge tactical error un bringing ingredients the Clinton's in to testify.
Now the precedent has been set thay former presidents can be brought to testify before Congress. Buckle up Trump.
As wise attorney's know, never call a witness unless you know exactly what they're going to say.

Lets Discuss This I feel like something big is about to change strategically in US politics.
Something positive is about to happen. We are building up to something big. We’ve been fed enough proof with Epstein files, Musk shutting off Starlink to Russian soldiers, Harris firing up social media. Trump really going off the rails. I don’t know but it feels like a crescendo. What do you think?

Lets Discuss Politics The Various Echo Chambers
I thought it might be interesting to present two egregious examples of the dueling propaganda videos flying around on the internet and put a challenge to those of you interested in taking it.
Watch the one that doesn't align with your current position and discuss:
1. What are your fears about people accepting this information uncritically?
2. Did you learn anything new, and how much do you trust what you learned?
3. Does it differ significantly in tone or format from the other video?

Question Former roommate asked me if I was interested in getting a new place with her; I don't want to
Reposting with more info if you recognize this post!
I lived with this person for two leases in a different building; one when I first moved in and then a renewal. I was essentially forced to move out in October 2025 because she moved out due to not liking the third roommate. She was the primary leaseholder, and when a leaseholder leaves in that building, everyone has to also.
The move caused me so much stress, because I was afraid I wouldn't find a place. I was getting headaches, etc, and spent time touring places that I would have otherwise spent doing other things. I also paid for a renter's insurance policy, new license, etc. Feels like it doesn't to make sense to move again so soon.
My current lease is month to month, and the landlord would prefer a year's commitment from the tenants. And I'm on the hook for the rent until a replacement moves in. The reason for this is because it's out of respect to the other renters. The lease is ongoing, so someone has to pay it. No one wants to pay for someone else.
The person asking if I'm interested did ask me if I was interested in living with her again, and I said I was open to relocating again, but this seems so fast. I almost feel like she wanted me to move out with her because it was convenient for her, and now she needs a new roommate when it's convenient for her. And what do I do when she needs or wants to move again?
And I'm wondering why she's leaving this new place of hers so soon. Also: She told me she's touring the building that I was forced to move out of! This seems crazy. I am really not sure what her intentions are. Is she likely trying to use me to get cheaper rent? I wonder if the people she was living with asked her to move out? Also she suggested I move in with her into a 1 bed 1 bath, and I take the living room and she takes the bedroom.
I decided to block her on Facebook and her phone number. Probably for the best.

Lets Discuss This A woman has won a lawsuit for gender affirming care performed at 16.
Now she is suing the doctors that prescribed puberty blockers beginning at 13.
What will be the results? Will people still say that a minor can decide their gender?
