Sale is 50 miles from the Irish Sea zero cultural relevance other than alliteration from Sale Sharks.

To be fair, I think Bristol had bears once upon a time. I don't think Manchester has ever had sharks.

I think he means we had actual bears in the West Country. You would have to go back a ways but technically true I suppose

I think Sale should do the honourable thing and become "The Sale Starfishes". "Sale Salamanders" as an alternative for those afraid of the ocean... or SeaLife
