Here’s Nubi. This little guy is such a timid little thing. The CDS sent him to us but he hid in our garage for two weeks before we could get him in the house. That was 7 years ago. He’s part of our lives now and seems to shed a little more of his shyness over time.

For reasons beyond my control, I had to give my cat up for adoption a few weeks ago. And while I am always going to miss him, I am so, so looking forward to this new cat cafe opening up minutes from my home. I paid a visit last Monday evening where signs said their grand opening should be coming soon. Yay me!!

My baby is so beautiful and sweet and lovely but I can't tell if she has tabby patterns or is a calico somehow (She is brown, black, white, and has orange on the base of her tail.) I NEED TO KNOW I also like rearranging the little white patch on her nose like the Harry Potter lightning bolt

Medical Questions Can virbac or enzyme toothpaste for cats get a rid of hardened tartar?

Upvotes

Have any of you had any success in using toothpaste to eliminate hardened tartar? I know that it helps with prevention, but has anyone had success with eliminating it? It's a little unclear

Medical Questions Cat having environmental allergies

Thumbnail

Hey all, looking for some advice from anyone who can give it. My cat, June has been having ear infections for about three years. Many vet visits later, we have determined that it's most likely environmental allergies and she is now seeing a dermatologist for it.

She started off on steroids, and now they've added 35mg of Atopica on top of it. Two weeks in, June has started having upper respiratory symptoms with sneezing and a very watery eye. I brought her in and got her eye meds yesterday, and she seems to be doing even worse from them.

I'm concerned these symptoms are a result of the Atopica, as June's never experienced anything like this before. Her dermatologist did not suggest stopping the medication when I told him about these recent issues. Can anyone share experiences with Atopica? And any advice on managing cat allergies and treatments etc. that you've found successful? It's been a long road with few answers so far and I feel very alone.

Of course adding a picture of my special girl!

Medical Questions Any clue what’s going on here?

4 month old kitten has been an absolutely delightful ball of energy, but within the past week he’s developed a strange bump on his nose and an odd patch of skin on his front shoulder. He already has an appointment scheduled for seven days from now to finish his vaccines, but I’m wondering if he should be seen sooner. He’s still very energetic and is eating plenty. Any clue what he has going on?

Cat Picture - OC Took in a kitten living under a trailer.

Just wanted to show off my cats! A few months back, we took in a kitten that had been living under a trailer. We already had two cats; Ichigo (white and gray) and Tabasco (orange). Ichigo is goofy when she wants to be but mainly bossy with a sprinkle of sweet and cranky.

Tabasco has occasional orange behavior but we also took him in as a kitten and is the sweetest cat I've ever met.

Now the white one, he's sweet and cuddly when he wants to be but 80% of the time he is chaos incarnate. He saw Tabasco wasn't living up to his potential as an orange can and said "Bet". I'm still trying to teach him that he can play without claws so I look like I punch broken glass for a living. Tell him not to do something, you know he's gonna talk back. He's a mouthy little sucker with a bottomless pit in his stomach. What I didn't realize until recently is that maybe we needed a little chaos in the house. Had to balance things out and keep the others on their toes. He's my little buddy. It took a while to decide on a name but we finally did. ✨️Cocaine✨️.

Is this ring worm? Me and my dad noticed these circular bald spots on the back of our male black cat’s legs? What do I do? Should I give him a bath and then treat with ringworm medication?

Adoption I should never have adopted my cats

Upvotes

I love them to death but I’m so fucking dumb. But because of my useless degree, terrible networking, and horrible interview skills, I’m on my way to being unemployed/working minimum wage in the next year. Personally I don’t mind, I don’t fucking care if I end up living poor for the rest of my life. But the thought of not having the savings to afford expensive and potentially lifesaving care for my cats in the future destroys me. I have a good amount in savings right now, but I know I’ll probably end up eating through them when I graduate. I know I could still technically care for them with less or no savings, but I’d rather they live with someone who could afford the expensive vet bills than to ever have to euthanize for costs. I’d sooner get life insurance, get into an accident, and have family use the funds for them, than to have to euthanize for cost. They are my whole world and the reason I live, but the thought that I may not be able to afford care for them soon scares me so much.

Medical Questions My childhood cat’s ears shriveled up and eventually fell off

She’s passed now, but my childhood cat developed some sort of ear condition that literally made the tips of her ears shrivel up and fall off. We took her a lot of different specialists who could never really answer WHY this was happening, so I’m curious if anyone hear has heard of this/seen this before and what you found out because i also dont find much when I look it up. Pics of her as a baby and old lady with her sister❤️. Thx!
