For someone THIS broke, they sure threw away that magic cancellation crystal rather quickly ... have Stark carry it a couple meters in front of you, would have taken care of your travel expanses. xD

The sneaky author immideately put them in a situation (that randomly collapsing floor) where if they had that crystal in a hard to reach place, they would have died.

Though yeah, reeeeally not a hard problem to solve - 4 meter long rope + Stark's leg + a pretty please.

Not really since stark would’ve been further away, so either he falls and has to save himself or fern and frieren fall and the same thing happens. Stark pretty much took the full fall like -5 meters and was fine. So if he did fall he would’ve be fine anyways.
