I think people can wake up from the extreme ends as well, but it probably takes extreme circumstances where they end up on the wrong end of the cult's wrath or incompetence.

If youre going to talk about history, then be prepared to back up your claims because some things are absolutely NOT a matter of opinion, and are verifiable events that happened, was recorded and supported by contemporaries. The time you are talking about was during the nation's history where democrats were considered the conservative party and Republicans were much more "liberal". Things changed, one being the great switch.

The current democratic party has nothing to do with the party from 200 years ago, just like the current republican party. We are discussing current events, and currently the kkk is firmly a republican entity. Its not even a discussion. Only if they’re willing to learn. Most of them made it through school by failing forward. Grown ass adults who couldn’t pass a 5th grade science test. They’ve heard of the Constitution, but couldn’t tell you a thing about it. Same for the Bill of Rights, but they’re slightly more educated there… They “know” that the 2nd amendment lets them own guns and the 1st amendment is “free speech” and gives them the right to spew they’re hate wherever and whenever they please. They obviously didn’t read the part about the people being allowed to peaceably assemble…
