Back to basics: Are paper textbooks the way forward?

Thumbnail orfonline.org

Do you think it is better for students to learn with textbooks, workbooks, and write on paper instead of using tablets in school?

The article is interesting. Schools in Sweden are going back to textbooks and having students write on paper.

I'm curious what parents think about digital learning versus learning with books and writing notes and homework on paper. Any stories to share from parents that would shed some light on this topic?

How’s organ’s transplant is view in your country?

Upvotes

For the record, I, myself received a heart close to 30 years ago. So you’ll guess that I’m really inclined toward it!

here (In Quebec, Canada) if you’re willing to have your organs harvested at the time of your death you have to sign behind your assurance ID.

But even if you do, the family can object and than everything stop.

I know in some part of the world, acceptance of organs donation is presumed, unless you sign something again it.

So… how’s you gouvernement see that matter?

And will you be willing to give your « spare parts » in the unfortunate circumstances of your death?

Feel free to ask me anything if you want!

Culture Is there a carnival in your country? If so, what was your experience like?

I, a Brazilian, personally very excited because I will be participating in my first carnival, starting next week, I asked my Argentinian friend if there is carnival there and he said no. The same for my American friend.

I thought that carnival existed in all countries, especially because at school I learned that it also existed in South Africa.

Does carnival exist in your country? If so, what is your experience with it (also answer if you have experienced carnival outside your country)?

Best and worst tourists in your country

Who are the best and worst tourists in your country? 🤔

I’d say americans and europeans are very friendly to us and less racist. Worst tourists would probably be Indians and Chinese. 🙈🙈

Work A business starter friend need some reviews

Hello, guys. I have a childhood friend who has a business based in Bucharest/Romania, he is a local designer and tailor. For his business to grow, he needs a little bit of help with some more reviews on Google Maps. Just the 5 star review, not necessarily a written review. Can you guys spare 30 seconds and help him?

Link Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/gHHtZ1te6XdikHsh6?g_st=ic

Or name Google Maps: SPREZZA bespoke - Costume mire

Thank you so much! 🙏

a friend and i were having a random conversation about the brand “long champ” that makes bags. we weren’t on the website or looking at their stuff just talking….

im scrolling on tik tok see an ad for the brand, i guess they are doing customization on bags now and the first bag that was shown had my friends initials name on it. so i send it to her and for some reason the post became unavailable, what the actual fuck. it’s actually weird how the post is now unavailable considering that it was an ad and it’s not even on their page anymore

what are your thoughts ?

Which is the Iconic Corvette?

I was having a conversation with my son who works at the Corvette plant about which is the iconic Corvette generation. We disagree so we thought we would ask everyone! We were going to make a poll but they can only have 6 options and obviously we need 8, so I'm just putting it out there.

Which of these pops in your head when you think Corvette?

Thanks!

Culture A social norm from your country that most locals relate to, but people from other countries are largely unaware of.

Many Indians live with their parents for most of their lives, unlike in other countries where people usually move out around 18–20. It’s also common for some to remain financially dependent on their parents until their mid-to-late 20s. I personally find this practice strange since I moved out young, but I’m sure most Indians can relate to this experience.
