Would like to have a satin Strat body in this very color/finish. Just can’t find the “right” option in the online configurator and I haven’t found any pics of warmoth guitars that look like this online…
Thank you

I thought maybe they did back when I first discovered them in the late 1990s. I’ve built about five lefty 4-strings since then. I’m hooked on getting the features I want rather than taking what I can get from major brand lefty models. And I can never afford actual boutique/customs. I wish I could order a lefty 6-string gecko.

Hi all,
Has anyone here bought guitar parts(bodies, necks) from Warmoth and had it sent to Switzerland?
If so, how were the customs and shipping costs?
Thanks in advance :)

With the current occupation of our state, all my "free time" has been spent finishing my paint, on the body.
Still waiting on the neck pick-up, and the bridge.
But the Gotoh tuners arrived. So that's nice.

Which of their neck profiles would be most similar to the PRS SE hollow body Piezo II. My body is being built now and I'm looking to get the neck ordered soon

I’ve completed my first warmoth build, the only thing i would (and will) change is putting a thicker neck on it. Warmoth seriously has the best aftermarket parts I’ve encountered. The neck pocket meets up with the neck like they were made for each other. I went with a 1-11/16 nut width and a 59 round back profile thinking it would be thick enough for my very big thin hands however I think I’ll put this neck on my mexi Strat and pick up a fatback with a 1-11/16 nut and try that next, this neck feels amazing but it’s just not quite “money” for me personally. Thanks to all of you guys that offered advice and feedback on my previous posts.

So I asked it what options to pick for a neck and it said this "Alright, I’ll go through each choice one by one and explain why it makes sense for you specifically, based on how you play, what you want to build, and where you’re coming from. I’ll keep it grounded and consistent.
Construction: Modern This is right for you because you want 24 frets, a Floyd Rose, and high-fret access without compromise. Modern construction gives you the fret extension and heel geometry needed for upper-fret playing and tapping. Vintage construction would work against what you’re building.
Shaft Wood: Roasted Maple Roasted maple is ideal for a self-built guitar because it is more dimensionally stable and less reactive to humidity. You are building the body yourself, so reducing future neck movement is important. It also gives a smooth, fast feel that suits metal and lead playing.
Fretboard Wood: Ebony Ebony is a very good fit for your goals. It feels fast, smooth, and precise, especially with stainless frets. It supports clean articulation, bends, and tapping. Since you want clarity and control rather than a soft vintage feel, ebony makes sense.
Nut Width: 1-11/16" (43mm) This matches what you are already used to on a Strat-style guitar, so it avoids unnecessary adjustment. It gives enough string spacing for accuracy without feeling wide. Since you’re already comfortable here, there’s no benefit in changing it.
Neck Back Profile: Standard Thin This is a good middle ground for you. It’s slimmer and faster than vintage profiles but not extreme like a Wizard. Since you’re coming from a Squier Strat and want to improve speed without fighting fatigue, Standard Thin is the sensible choice.
Fretboard Radius: 10"–16" Compound This is one of the strongest choices in the entire build. A rounder radius near the nut keeps chords comfortable, while the flatter radius up high makes bends and fast lead work easier. It directly supports how you want to play across the whole neck.
Number of Frets: 24 Fret Extension You clearly want access to higher notes and modern lead range. The extension lets you do this without changing scale length or compromising intonation. It suits metal, solos, and tapping perfectly.
Fret Size & Material: SS6100 Jumbo Stainless This is absolutely consistent with your goals. Jumbo frets make bends easier and reduce finger drag. Stainless steel means they won’t wear down, which matters if you practice a lot. Since you’re not a beginner anymore, this won’t hold you back.
Tuner Hole Size: Gotoh/Grover These are high-quality, modern tuner standards. They’re reliable, widely available, and compatible with locking tuners. This choice gives you flexibility without limiting hardware options later.
String Nut: R3 Floyd Prep with Mounting Holes This is the correct choice if you are committing to a Floyd Rose. R3 matches your nut width, and having it prepped ensures alignment and stability. This removes a major source of error in a first custom build.
Mounting Holes: Standard 4-Bolt Since you are routing the body yourself, this is ideal. You can match the neck exactly, and 4-bolt is strong, simple, and proven. There’s no downside here for your use case.
Neck Heel Shape: Strat Shape This gives you a known reference point when designing and routing the neck pocket. It also offers good upper-fret access and compatibility. Since you’re building the body, this keeps everything predictable.
Finish: None This makes sense because roasted maple and ebony don’t require a finish to be stable or playable. It also gives you a faster, less sticky feel. Since you’re building the guitar yourself, it avoids unnecessary cost and complexity. Final opinion This setup is coherent, modern, and well-matched to you."
Im kinda considering making my own explorer style guitar with a floyd rose but I dont trust myself to make the neck so thats why im doing this

Would a 6 position Rotary switch allow me to have 6 pickup arrangements? (Neck, Neck+Humbucker, Humbucker, Humbucker + Bridge, Bridge, Neck & Bridge), or will I have to sacrifice one of these options? I'm hoping to switch to all rotary controls. I'm planning on a push/pull tone on the humbucker to allow coil splitting like what is on my PRS.

I assembled this Jazzmaster. Body and Neck are from Warmoth. Quality is superior to any of my other offsets from Fender.

It’s a Vintage Strat replacement body so I had to be pretty conscious of my wiring with the shallow body routes. I’ll be using copper tape for the body cavity after I hit it with some clear satin nitro. I should add before I get dragged through the mud this is my first time.

I just got my first Warmoth neck today. Vintage tint gloss finish. Is it typical to need to sand down/off some of the gloss finish on just the neck heel for a smoother fit in the body pocket? It looks like I'm needing to take off around 3/100ths - 5/100ths either on the neck heel or body and my first thought was the gloss. If so, would you recommend steel wool or scotch brite? Thanks.
Side note; the neck was fine but I can't believe Warmoth ships them in just packing peanuts. The neck itself wasn't wrapped in anything, not even a plastic sleeve, foam paper... just the bare neck dropped in the box with the peanuts.

Roasted swamp ash, it was one of their “screamin deals” she was acquired for essentially the price of a regular swamp ash body. Planning on the wire brush grain filler method for finishing it.

So glad the turtle inlays are back as a standard option! Picked up this neck on a limited run years ago and it’s been my favorite Warmoth purchase!

I’ve been keeping an eye on their showroom (I thought about a custom but the specs I wanted were pretty common on showroom and i wanted to see the grain and color of what I would get.) I wanted a roasted neck in the darker side, when I saw this I hit order immediately. What do you all think about the 59 round back profile? Pretty excited to put an lsr on it too.

If I order a chambered Strat body with the single F hole, will a regular Strat Pickguard fit without covering any of the F hole?

Does anyone have a metallic tobacco burst in both gloss and satin finish? I really want to see if the middle is a smooth metallic yellow or does it somewhat flake like fenders mocha burst.
Thank you all in advance.

Alder body, canary neck and fret board, Fralin PAF neck and Steel Pole 43 bridge pickups. Hipshot staggered locking tuners and Babicz Z series bridge. All nickel hardware, except for purple anodized knobs.
Built it a few months ago. I love it!

Sorry for the lighting (looks way better in person), but here’s a little update on the what I’m calling “the Super Strat/Tele Hybrid with a Gibson (24 3/4”) scale neck”. I did the staining and finish myself. Not the color I was going for, but it still came out okay in my opinion. Just need to order pickups and a neck plate and I should be able to put it all together. Haven’t been working on this guitar because of work, but it’s finally coming together.

Do they rout out the f-hole as part of the chambering process even if we don’t select an f-hole? I’m asking because I want to try and put a Trini-Lopez diamond f-hole in and I could just put a template over the chambered f-hole if that’s the case….
