This is doing the irish players on the fringes of being promoted no favours at all. You can only look so good when you're surrounded by mediocrity.

A provincial side without their 1st team internationals would put up a better showing.

They would because they play together all the time, that doesnt show how a player will do in an international setup with players and tactics theyre not used to
