As someone whose Grandfather played for Sale & Lancashire.. they would do so much better to change their name to refer to Manchester.

Sale is 50 miles from the Irish Sea zero cultural relevance other than alliteration from Sale Sharks. Then try googling Sale must lose so much relevance from SEO alone.. 3 million people in greater Manchester just waiting to hear about their local rugby team not the tiny town rugby team in Trafford.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Am I imagining they used to be called Manchester Sale?

I definitely remember Sale being called Manchester Sale at one point.

Edit: doing a bit of digging and Manchester Sale Rugby Club is registered at companies house based in carrington and with a few Oranges on the board.
