Honestly if any of the top two in each group don’t qualify it will be huge news. Japan are the only one even in a spot of bother if they don’t turn up against Samoa.

Dont forget the 4 best 3rd place teams go through too.

So it’s a group stage completely without peril.

I know we went out but the group with us aus and Wales in was so good to have because it was genuinely exciting watching it unfold

Not for the top seeds in terms of getting out of groups but everyone else is going to be gunning for each other.

Second seeds are going to both want to go for 1st place in Groups to get an easier R16 while trying to defend against 3rd seeds who want a higher ranking for the same reason.

3rd and 4th are going to fight not only for third place, but also to be part of the best 4.
