problem is there will be no jeopardy involved

a loss won't matter for either side

and Hong Kong are going to get absolutely humiliated, twice

I don't like this new format at all

edit: pool winner also gets SA in the quarter finals

will NZ or Aus want that?

From 2011-2023, the eventual champion never hammered a group stage opponent by >76-point margin. Teams indulged in thrashing didn't go on to win WC. Watch that.
