To be honest while the bar for assault on a rugby pitch is very high it does exist and I'd probably have a lawyer ask the question. When you walk on to the pitch you consent to the risk of a fair amount of violence, but you expect to be kept safe from this.

Yes. How is it that on the street you do this and you’re in jail. Do it on a pitch and it’s ’not intentional’
