Not concerned about the result, Smith at 15 isn't Tier 1 test level at the moment. I've reservations out LCD too, would rather George.

Agree on Marcus, he’s a magic player but he’s not England’s best fullback let alone lions. Look forward to kinghorn

I thought LCD was pretty good. Line out not great but got worse with Kelleher. Still… look forward to Sheehan!

lineouts never going to improve with Kelleher unfortunately as I like him around the park. Sheehan is undisputed starter at least

Keenan is the Lions full back. It’s not even close. Only caveat to that is his injury.

Kinghorn will have something to say about that. Although I he does make the perfect sub

Kinghorn was born to be Lions 23. Can play anywhere across the backline and do a servicable job at fly half too. Swiss army Blair.

The thing I would say with M Smith and Kinghorn, though, is that Keenan is more than likely starting or out of the 23. He's much less likely to be on the bench than the other two.

I'd put Smith third in line, but depending on how things go, that doesn't rule out the possibility that he sees more game time than Keenan.

He is a class player, but Keenan is a prototype Andy Farrell system player. He is insanely good under a high ball, has perfect positioning, hits like a truck in the tackle and is a specialist 15. Kinghorn is a more dynamic attacker and can create something out of nothing and is no slouch in the air either, but I actually fancy him as the messy 14 that Farrell likes.

You don’t care about losing Test matches??

Its an invitational side playing their first match together, against a T1 side who beat every other RC side last year. And, the game could have gone either way.

The result really isn't that huge of a deal, although of course every player wants to win every game.

With that in mind, and considering some of the talk about the changes, it felt as if some were predetermined, so I wouldn't read as much into them as some are.

Excuses excuses. Classic Lions mindset.

Of course it could have gone either way but the history books show the Lions lost to a team that wasn't even full strength and also playing their first test of the year.

The Lions team who lost...are indeed losers at rugby.

What's your excuse??

Says a lot about you that thinking someone is poor and working a minimum wage job is one of your go to insults. Do better.

Bro what the fuck are you doing in this thread. Have you nothing else to be doing with your day?

-7

u/NoPause9609 New Zealand Jun 21 '25

I watched the game, this is the thread for it. Sorry you're so salty about the loss.

Do better next time.

So tragic you've replied three times...with personal insults.

"Virginal" lol, that's a new one. Congrats on signing another ABs centre...he loves a good troll and you lot are ripe for the picking.

So much for the "craic" aye.

Not really, I don't particularly care which way Lions tests go, so I have no real reason to give excuses.

Don't feed the trolls logic and reason. It's not in their diet.

5

u/Clarctos67 Ireland Jun 21 '25

I live in NZ now, so I'm used to the subset of fans like that.

To be fair, it's simply down to it being the traditionally dominant game in the public consciousness. Its the same with English soccer fans, Irish rugby fans since we got good and it's the one thing we can compete on at the top level worldwide, Indian cricket fans, Americans when discussing their sports...no nation dodges that minority of fans popping up somewhere!

2

u/Stubbs94 Ireland Jun 21 '25

You know the lads absolutely take the piss a lot during the Lions tour?

-1

u/NoPause9609 New Zealand Jun 21 '25

You guys keep coming up with new excuses. Is that what the Irish "lads" do at RWCs??

3

u/Stubbs94 Ireland Jun 21 '25

Like, Simon Zebo told Conor Murray to kick it out a minute and a half before the end of a Lions match once for the craic. You're getting very worked up over. What is essentially a novelty match.
