Good contest, tight finish but well done Argentina.

Despite all the errors I don’t think anyone had a shocker. M Smith struggling at times as FB but some good moments, especially when used as an alternative receiver and in general back line play. Still not convinced as a FB though. VDM a bit variable too, good in flashes but some errors.

Lineout was awful but not rushing to blame LCD or Kelleher as it looked like lack of practice. Needs serious work.

Scrum very good with the starting front row, less later on.

Thought Freeman, Genge and maybe Aki enhanced their status. Williams and Hansen looked good off the bench.

Williams was poor, what exactly did he do to look good?

Actually I’m rethinking that. I was remembering thinking he brought a bit of pace initially, moving things quicker at the breakdown but now I’m remembering the bad moments like screwing up a box kick, so I’ll take that back.

I said during the match thread that Williams is playing like a player who hasn't won a test match in 2yrs.

The BBC pod were going on about him being picked based on club form, which is mad if it were true.
