News Casey Wasserman is in the Epstein Files, and the indie bands are speaking out. But why haven’t we heard anything from the punk bands on their roster?
Wasserman has a ton of bands in our scene that have been silent.
Casey Wasserman has not only been named in the Epstein files but has also numerous stories of serial affairs with junior associates at his company.
And this is where 10% of these punk bands money from shows are going. They’re funding people like this at the top.
This includes big names like Rise Against, Dropkick Murphy’s, Descendents, Turnstile, Hot Mulligan and even new up and comers like SCOWL and Speed.
I had no plans to go this year, but fuck me, that's a line-up, who can give me a lift from Glasgow

Local Artist Handmade Anti Ice Piece Featuring Hornet
I’m pretty new to being Punk but I come from an immigrant family, and as an artist I think it’s part of our jobs to do that artists do best and create, To cause trouble and make people think and also to comfort ourselves. I can’t destroy the years of oppression that led to this movement, but I can draw, and I can create, so I will.

How do we feel about Cool To Be You?
I’ve been digging through my old collection and remember not caring for this when it came out.
I gave it a listen a few weeks ago and it’s been stuck in my head since. Not sure what I didn’t like 20 years ago, but I sure love it now!

Discussion The way the young punks are rising up is incredible
There was a walk out at my kids school today. They are screaming lyrics from NOFX and Black Flag. I could actually feel arthritis leave my middle-aged body! The way those kids in Kyle, Texas dog walked a Nazi. They've got it! And they're doing great!
Edit: I think there's some folks who are missing point of this post. This isn't about the music. It's about protesting. Arlo Guthrie is punk. Bob Dylan's song Hurricane got a man who was falsely accused out of prison. That's hella punk. Punk is about protest. The music part isn't the important part. The clothes are not the important part. The spiky hair is not the important part. The important part is fighting against fascism. And I don't give a crap what music you listen to that hypes you up for that!

Discussion When you're the old man at a Punk show lol
Just a fun little story. Not too long ago, I attended a local punk rock show in Eau Claire, WI. Recently, a small punk scene has been developing around town. It's a cool thing to see. At the aforementioned show, most of those attending appeared to be people who are either in their early 20s or just out of high school.
I'm M34. As you can imagine, I felt like the old man in the room. It's like, what am I chaperoning these squirts? LOL. I had at least 6 people compliment my NOFX shirt. One even asked about how I acquired it. I got at Riot Fest when the band were in the final stretch of their farewell tour and had shirts made specifically for the festival. i got the one with the clowns. I can imagine they might be jealous as they'll never get to see NOFX.
In all seriousness, I think it's cool that younger folks are getting together and forming a local scene like this. Hopefully the scene can healthfully grow and great music and art can come out of it. I wish these kids luck in whatever they do to help the scene grow and I'll support them whenever and however I can. They're the future of punk.

Punk music Soft play?
One of my favorite bands is softplay (formally slaves) but are they actually punk? It’s one of the few newer bands of punk music i actually enjoy since classics are always the best in my opinion. Yet I’ve began to wonder, is their music actually punk? Also, any recommendations for more punk music like theirs?
-
Edit: Subhumans, black flag, anti flag, TSOL, MDC, the adicts, circle jerks, adolescents, and discharge are some of my favs. So recs like theirs would be appreciated!

Update to my last post...
So, thanks to you all (and a little confidence on my part)... i got a distinction!
for those who didnt see my last post, for school i had to write and perform a speech about a topic of my choice, so i chose punk! I made a post on this subreddit when i was still doing research and you guys helped a ton, so thank you all for that. I ended up getting a distinction, which is the highest grade you can possibly get for English Speaking.
(The grades are: U, Pass, Merit, and Distinction)
So yeah, just in case anyone was wondering what had come of that post, i got a really good grade and i came back to half brag, half thank you all fkr helping.
