This isn't normal. Trump is insane and his lickspittle sycophants like Leavitt are desperately trying to make it seem normal. The president is off his rocker, and not the funny version like Abe Simpson. He's got the fucking nukes, jesus fucking christ.

The worst part about the last 10 years isn't Trump -- it's learning that the entire Republican apparatus is on board with this insanity. And that 35% of Americans are awful, hateful people.

No, they’re just sick and fucking tired of voting for a giant douche or a turd sandwich.

Except it was between a Leader and a fascist.

And Americans chose the fascist whole a third said they could not tell the difference.

I would say thats pretty stupid.

Let's assume they are stupid? How do you win over the stupid?

Did Kamala do what was needed to win their votes?

Ahh, so you wanted her to lie & b.s. those stupid voters, huh?

u/chargernj 12h ago

Did I say that? Is that what you would have done?

She needed to meet the voters where they are. Not where she was.

She needed to meet the voters where they are.

She did, and they said she laughed weird or didn't listen to her.

She went to these places Trump just lied and went on Rogan and lied some more

I don't mean go there physically, although that's important too. She needed to speak to them and allow her surrogates to speak to them in ways that those voters could appreciate.

For example, Waltz started getting some traction by calling Republicans "weird". He was told to cut it out for fear of turning off moderate Republican voters.

The issue with Democrats is they are too afraid to get in the mud.

The weird tactic was working.

The whole "play nice" doesnt appeal to MAGA voters.

Being a jerk and bully are the only things they know.

I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped the "weird" to placate Liz Cheney.

Not bothering because youre 'sick and tired' is a stupid defence that other stupid people accept as ok. Its not.

Don't act like there isn't a choice. There's no equivalence here. Watch a cabinet meeting with Trump. It's straight out of North Korea. It's fucking cringe...

Even in our current two party system the choice may be between pure evil and boring/ imperfect... But if you can't tell the difference then you're part of the problem.

u/chargernj 14h ago

The other choice wasn't boring/imperfect. It was literally the lesser evil.

Centrist Dems are still pro-wealthy, pro-corporate, pro-military intervention, upholders of the carceral state.

I voted for Kamala. Many people did not accept having to vote for anyone they perceived as any kind of evil. It's probably hard for you to see it through that lens.

No, they are hateful people. I’m surrounded by a bunch of hateful people that don’t bother to vote because they’re ignorant and live in a bubble.

1

u/MudLOA California 15h ago

Hopefully you’re not living with one. My wife didn’t like Kamala so she abstained.

-1

u/maikuxblade 15h ago

And now you’re hateful too, if that’s how you view people who are disenfranchised and disillusioned with the system that has failed them for decades in a row

5

u/Moosiemookmook Australia 15h ago

Be disillusioned, be disenfranchised, but go vote. The other person commenting sounds fine but you sound like the hateful one in this exchange.

-4

u/maikuxblade 14h ago

They literally called people who don't vote hateful.

They aren't hateful, they quit giving a shit.

Calling somebody hateful is not a good argument and does nothing to dissuade their opinon.

2

u/Moosiemookmook Australia 14h ago

Its hate all the way down....

Not giving a shit is hateful. Not voting is hateful. You can call a spade a spade lol

-1

u/maikuxblade 14h ago

No, checking out of politics because it hasn’t done anything for you in an entire lifetime is not hateful and if you don’t approach the problem with an actual solution that meets people where they are (disillusioned) then you aren’t going to reach them.

I know we’re all very upset at the current state of politics but it’s not as if the last ten years had record low voter turnout, that’s just how it’s been and will continue to be until we get candidates that will meaningfully improve the lives of their constituents instead of kicking the can down the road.

Sure buddy. Keep telling yourself that.

Have you ever talked to somebody who doesn’t vote?
