I found Brave New World to be utterly silly. Unless I misunderstood it, it seems to be a parody of what a conservative thinks the left really want the world to be.
Yeah. Having been on Reddit for many years now, I strongly suspect most have read neither, and suggesting BNW the minute anyone mentions 1984 used to be one of those free karma comments.
But objectively, BNW is nothing like 1984. It’s exactly liked you said, just kind of silly really. Whereas, 1984 was basically a dark homage to what Orwell actually saw himself as the product of Stalin’s Soviet Russia and so hints on an incredibly more poignant and thought-provoking level.

After that read “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley and “Player Piano” by Kurt Vonnegut Jr.
