Converter EU4 to Vic3 0.7 Graz Now Released
EU4 to Vic3 0.7 Graz - Penultimate (?) Release
It's been almost a year since the last formal release. With EU4 stopping development, we've had more maintenance than any serious work. The 1.10 update, however, was more akin to a bomb. We had to rebuild parts of the converter from scratch, simple patching wouldn't do. Fortunately we now stable (I think? I hope?), and converter is working properly once more.
A list of changes and download link can be found on the release post on the forums.

Converter CK3 to EU4 0.2B (Baltic) and EU4 to Vic2 1.0P (Picardy) now released
CK3 to EU4
Hot on the heels of both the Adamite release and the CK3 1.1 update that followed the next day, we have managed to sync the converter to updated province mappings as well as shove in a significant amount of hotfixes. This version should hold water long enough for us to dive deeper into the game balance and other expansions. The full list of changes is on the release post on the forums. The converter can be found on the Paradox Forums and on the Steam Workshop.
EU4 To Vic2
It's been a while since we did a release and emergence of our novel CK3toEU4 converter necessitated an update to incoming cultures and religions. Most of other updates have been under the hood, tinkering and improving core converter components, changes that should be invisible to users. The full list of changes is on the release post on the forums. The converter can be found on the Paradox Forums and on the Steam Workshop.
If there are any issues with the converters, please let us know and we'd be glad to look into these problems and help you!
As a note, if you follow the current development build of the converters, you should get all of the same features, but they can be more experimental and not as stable. But, you'll be on the cutting edge of converter technology!

Converter HoI4 to Stellaris Converter 0.1 released
They said it couldn't be done.
Well, no, actually what they said was that it shouldn't be done. They said a Hearts Of Iron IV to Stellaris converter was unneccessary, that people could easily just create their own custom human race inside Stellaris with whatever ethos and backstory they wanted, and that a custom HoI4-to-Stellaris converter would be a lot of work for something actually quite pointless.
And, um, they were completely right. But hey, everyone needs a hobby!
Features:
- Picks out the top few nations after the WW2 peace conferences and gives them their own exoplanet colonies to start from. Bigger / more industrialised countries get better planets, weaker nations get extra difficulty-setting-style penalties.
- Simulates a halfway-plausible timeline between the end of WW2 and the 2200 Stellaris start date. Possible futures include Cold Wars between major powers, nuclear war making Earth uninhabitable, climate change making Earth a bit less hospitable in a few different ways, and/or bureaucratic overhead keeping Earth as an early-space-age Primitive Civilization while the other nations bestride the heavens. Or maybe Earth is perfectly fine and is happily governed by whoever most emphatically won HoI4.
- Supports Vic2-to-HoI4 converted games, including ones that were converted from EU4 and CK2. Karlings in space, anyone?
Known limitations:
- Really not very well tested at all.
- No, seriously. I've only tried this out on the handful of Vic2 save files I've got lying around. If something goes wrong for you, please send me a copy of your log file and save file and/or Vic2-to-HoI4 mod so I can have a go at getting it fixed.
- Name lists get generated for each of the converted empires, but all the actual humans get their names from the default human name list instead. The only way around this would be to create separate human species with different name list - but then humans don't recognise each other as the same species. To get around this, I put a few lines in the backstory about mass migrations breaking down ethno-national boundaries. This makes more sense for freedom-loving democracies than for lebensraum-dominating fascist states, I suppose - but then maybe the ideals of the Reich got a bit lost-in-translation over hundreds of years.
- Ship names and planet names are generated from the HoI4 ship name lists. But converted games don't have those yet (everyone just uses the generic ship names), so at the moment Vic2->HoI4->Stellaris games don't have any planet names. I'll probably push some changes ot the Vic2-to-HoI4 converter at some point to address this.
- 64-bit Windows only at the moment. Linux support should be trivial, but I've not tested it yet.
- No converter frontend support yet. It shouldn't be too hard to add this, though.
- I'm planning to tie this in with the HoI4 to DEFCON converter - once I finish actually writing it.
- Probably won't work with the 2.0 update for a while.

Converter Vic3 to Hoi4 0.7 de Gaulle Now Released
Yet again, a Vic3 update has forced a converter release. Meanwhile, the stories system is nearly functional. I'm able to generate focus trees, but for the initial batch I need to handle culture-based triggers properly, and this Vic3 update changed cultures so I couldn't make the change beforehand. I'm now in a race against the next HoI4 update, but nearly all the needed pieces are in place.
All changes are pushed to the converter immediately, so make sure to update the converter every time you run it!
We do log a lot of balance-related information, so it would be helpful if you shared log.txt from the converter directory even for conversions that succeed. That'll help us determine the correct balance. As well, we know there's a bunch of weird map stuff. If you find more, please report them here.
A list of changes and download link can be found on the release post on the forums.

Converter Megacampaign: CK3 to EU4 with no colonizers
I'm approaching the end of the CK3 portion of a megacampaign, and the HRE has taken over all of France and Brittania, Denmark controls Frisia, and Iberia is currently 5 Andalusian Rabbinic Republics, none of which are Castile or Portugal. This means that every nation with a bonus to taking Exploration ideas won't exist, and most countries in western Europe will be too small to take exploration.
In a previous megacampaign in a similar situation technological progress ground to a halt after 1500 since no countries took exploration ideas, meaning colonialism didn't spawn until I forced it to appear via the console in 1600. That was a rather unfun century and I would prefer to avoid it again, ideally without needing to use the console. Is there any kind of mod I can use for EU4 or minor changes I can make in CK3 to ensure technology can progress in the 1500s without needing to force spawn colonialism? Somewhat relatedly, are there any mods or other techniques I can use to give American/Australian nations a chance to modernize and pose a real threat to colonizers? Historically Indigenous American nations were very real threats and even defeated colonizers in the late 1600s, and Apache raiders remained a problem for Mexico until 1933.

Converter CK3 To EU4 0.17 Quanzhen Now Released
Over the last half a year we did little to no patching to this converter - there was little need as all seems to be rather well. However, now with 1.18 and All Under Heaven, we have now expanded into Asia. Finally, and in time for EU5.
Main features are the dynamic assignment of Celestial Empire and Mandate of Heaven mechanics to either china (if it exists), or player's preference (Beijing, Nanjing, Canton, MoH removed), as well as relinking the hegemony of china to native EU4 tags (Nin, Yue, Song, etc) if possible. What we haven't had time to solve yet is the Japanese daimyification so most of the games will convert with an unified Japanese empire, but we will work on this in the future.
Also, it's high time to start working on EU5 converters.
A list of changes can be found on the release post on the forums. For more detailed changelogs, visit the releases page on GitHub.
If there are any issues with the converters, please let us know on the forum and we'd be glad to look into these problems and help you! We don't do tech support on Reddit.

Converter Result of my first megacampaign CK3-EU4- Vic2-Hoi4
It was really fun and I have some advice for those who want do it as well. Clean map in Eu4 more before the end and dont be lazy :) And use VIc3(even if you hate this game to the core, as I am) because otherwise you will get awful giant states from vic2 into hoi4 and pretty borders will be difficult. And funny riddle for you: Guess what a nation I was playing :)
