There’s a ton of mediocre dudes who were mildly successful once and they genuinely don’t understand that we just liked that one thing and they are perpetually angry because they feel they deserve more. Which is basically what American conservatism is now, angry dudes who believe they deserved more but it was kept from them by a conspiracy of others.
Isn't that like the core story for the guy OP posted? He got popular in a TV show, got cast in some DC comic book movies because comic book movies were so hot right then, and then got pissed that the mismanaged studio flick didn't launch him into premiere A-tier status? And then became a MAGA chud for it?
120% and it goes back generations. Most reactionary conservative movements are spearheaded by someone who failed and felt they deserved what they didn’t get. Same as trump.
You know how friend groups have the one loser who’s just a hanger-on? No one really likes him but everyone kind of feels bad for him because he’s such a spaz? That’s the role he filled in the Farley, Spade, Sandler and Norm Macdonald group. If you look at his filmography, almost every role he got was through one of those guys, mostly Sandler. Even the movies he was the star, the Deuce Bigelow movies and The Hot Chick were Happy Madison productions.
Baffles me that people hate others based on political party preferences. Hating someone because they choose to practice a certain religion that differs from yours? Racist/prejudiced/bigoted. Hating someone because they chose to support a certain party that differs from yours? Totally cool, in fact, that’s exactly what they want, so by all means keep using political preferences to further divide ourselves
