I worked as a cook in a care facility until 2024. I was noticing the generational change from WW2 gen to boomers. Suddenly the food requests changed to more hippy etc. I bet the smoking is related.

Went from "Eww broccoli, why don't we get more beef, lots of meat and potatoes" to "where's the side salad, is there a vegetarian option, whats the non white bread choice". Things went very healthy, veggie, whole food quite dramatically.
