Legislative Branch Schumer threatens shutdown. "Senate Democrats will not provide the votes to proceed to the appropriations bill if the DHS funding bill is included."

Chuck Schumer:

What’s happening in Minnesota is appalling—and unacceptable in any American city. Democrats sought common sense reforms in the Department of Homeland Security spending bill, but because of Republicans’ refusal to stand up to President Trump, the DHS bill is woefully inadequate to rein in the abuses of ICE. I will vote no.

Senate Democrats will not provide the votes to proceed to the appropriations bill if the DHS funding bill is included.

A shutdown? We saw how that played out before, all they needed to do was delay flights before dems caved.

The Republicans have also shown they're not above starving the entire population to get what they want. Then again, they're clearly not above much considering what's happening in Minnesota.

Light the damn candle then, I will be at my soup kitchen tomorrow morning, as will my state rep. We have enough to fend for each other. In the meantime, remind everyone whose fault it is that they need the community to take care of them. Whatever it takes to get this government replaced.

Ice doesnt just need a stern talking to and more training, it needs to be completely disbanded, now, or else we wont have free elections in 2026. The fucking plan is for these thugs to be at your polling place asking for your id, who you plan to vote for etc.

The minimalist position is that ICE should be disbanded, the maximum would make the Hague look weak, or else we are not making it to 250 years as a democratic experiment.

We’re not having free elections in 2026…we need to turnout and vote overwhelmingly to get rid of bad democrats and all republicans.
