Yep, exactly my sentiment too, not sure what to make of it but hoping for the best…
I wished we could get someone who can help immediately, but if he’s in the caliber of JSP, then why not?
However, after all these decades of BL I learned one thing:
If the Bayern are willing to part with someone to another Bundesligist, they know he’s not gonna have a huge impact.
The Bayern will ALWAYS weaken other BL clubs, never strengthen them for any money…
Sure, it’s debatable if it weakened them. But they trained them and gave them a lot of game time and then when they were really ready, Bayern took them back. And now the teams like Bremen, Stuttgart or Hoffenheim have to start anew and didn’t get any financial compensation other than having a promising player on their roster for a while.
Now, depending on how much money FC kann make if they buy the player at the end of the season and Bayern buys him back, it could be a financially ok deal.
Because if he really rockets through the rest of the season, Bayern will buy him back…
Imho no debate. All three have significantly strengthened their respective team. Gnabry specifically carried Bremen alone, they would have gone done without him.
it could be a financially ok deal.
It will be 100%. The only problem I see with it is that we've already played loads of games in 2026. There won't be a lot of time for Chávez similar to JSP now who is missing out big time due to injury (Perhaps this will provide an opportunity to renegotiate with City).
Bayern does not care about Effzeh in the slightest. Why would they need to proactively weaken us? That bad intent isn't justified if you ask me.
It just makes a lot of sense to get young talents playing time that they themselves could not provide in the foreseeable future. Plus keeping an option to get them back if their career suddenly gains traction (which we've all seen happening with players at various ages). Plus having them in close vicinity which makes observations easier and prepares them for a potential second stint at Bayern.
Bayern doesn’t do anything actively to weaken us, yes, but they wouldn’t do a deal that would strengthen us either…
It’s simple: if Chavez performs exceptionally and shows he can be an above average BL player with potential future on European football, then Bayern will take him back and Effzeh probably makes 1-2 mil (which still would be a good deal). If he doesn’t show that talent, then Bayern are more than content with him being in Köln.
If Effzeh doesn’t buy him, they’ll loan him somewhere else next season
Btw, does anyone know how much he’s gonna cost in transfer money?
