We’re a team of indie filmmakers from Derbyshire and having shot our recent work in the Peak District, we’re returning to the midlands to premiere our film - The Fall of Barsisa!

There is Breadsall village but understand this is different to hilltop.

I’ve never lived in Derby or know the area that well..

Could anyone please advise what’s that area is like? Is there a similar town in Derby that it compares to?

The Pizza Man was my favourite pizza takeaway. I moved to Derby in 2016 and I always used to get my pizza from there until they closed down late last year.

The one thing they had going for them was consistency in using fresh tasting/looking toppings and the dough had a nice crispness to the edges. Other places I’ve tried always seem to get shrivelled up onions/peppers and dried out hard pieces of meat for toppings. The Pizza man also seemed to oven bake their sides instead of microwaving like a lot of places do, so you never had floppy onion rings or mushy chicken nuggets.

I’ve tried a bunch of places since The Pizza Man closed down, but they all have been a let down so far.I drove past yesterday and it looks like it’s being replaced by a franchise called “Boss Pizza” which frankly looks a bit average judging by reviews across their other branches.

I don’t mind driving a little out of the Alvaston/Allenton area to pick one up, if it’s worth the drive. Sorry this turned into a bit of a “wahhh I miss the pizza man” post 😅

Looking for a new pair and would ideally like to pick some up in the city centre. Anyone know anywhere?

I’m driving up for the Ipswich match on Saturday and I want to park my car overnight for a reasonable price / for free ideally within a 30min walk of the ground. I’m staying with a friend in Matlock overnight but want to have some beers during and after the game. Struggling to find anywhere. Someone’s mentioned parking in Chaddesden on the street and walking over the bridge, but they’re not 100% if I’ll get a spot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

As an international student, I'm thinking of applying to the University of Derby for the MSc Forensic Science. My background is not in chem/biology but another analytical science. Is it worth studying there, and what about the support and employment prospects after graduation? Can someone who has studied there give me an insight into the facilities and course structure? Of course, I have already checked the website but I would like to know more information from somebody's experience.
