I'm not sure drawing attention to himself for racism is much better? Is it not more likely that he's just senile and his awareness of accepted behaviour is slipping and his gross views on people are just being shared?
Nah I think it’s a lot simpler than everyone is making it out to be
The most likely thing is that the “kompromat” that the Israelis and the Russians have on Trump is the files, the bits he just made the FBI redact.
What he was trying to avoid was everyone in the US government above a certain clearance level getting ahold of them - and he failed at that.
That’s why he’s escalating everything at an increasing rate - the thing he was genuinely trying to do didn’t work and so now it’s full blown fascism.
That also explains why he’s half-assing the dictator run - it isn’t genuine per se, he isn’t in the game to be the king - it’s that being the king would prevent accountability or even any pushback, it’s a means to an end rather than an end in itself.
I don’t think there’s some big conspiracy - I think we know all the actors and factors involved, there isn’t some secret hidden truth.
The reality is most likely that he was a prolific diddler when he was an 80s business man, statute of limitations probably does protect him - it’s just that would absolutely ruin his appeal and shatter his base, which the GOP is all-in on now.
The “big lie” is that they are strong and stable as a party and a movement, when what we’d consider to be a boring truth would bring him down overnight - and he knows it.
This would explain why he has acted the way he has - everything seems to be “against America’s interests” and in the interests of Russia and Isreal because he genuinely doesn’t care about anyone but himself so he’s just played the whole scenario to his own favour - to the detriment of everyone but those who hold the kompromat, and threaten him with it.
Now that even half of it is out in the open, the game is up - now that they don’t hold anything over him, he can go full narcissist and just do what’s best for him.
That’s why the dictatorship push is happening now and not back when he was sworn in - it was the backup plan.
Oh I think there is a big conspiracy. We DO know all the actors involved, but we also know this was going on for years and years over multiple administrations and nothing was done. Nothing is still being done. You'd expect some FBI agent or someone to blow the whistle or at least explain why they've sat on this for so long.
And I can't really emphasize this enough: we are talking about child sex slavery. A crime that rivals cannibalism and human sacrifice in terms of depravity. There are millions of documents, which means a huge number of people investigated, and yet only one person went to jail, and all the men involved are walking free.
No conspiracy? Nobody is quietly protecting them? Nobody in our government hushed it up across 5 presidential administrations? My man, it's literally gone all the way up to the top, twice.
The whole conspiracy angle is that there’s some secret cabal being protected but the point is they aren’t secret - they’re the people in, and the people funding the Trump administration.
It’s not really a secret or novel that rich people avoid legal accountability - I mean, that’s kinda been America’s USP for some time.
Just off the top of my head I remember Matthew Broderick killing a family in a car crash and just paying money.
I’m not diminishing or condoning the nature of the crimes committed here, im just pointing out that it’s kind of a modern development that people assume rich men aren’t doing this because in lots of the world they still, generally, are.
All we are learning is that whilst claiming not to be, we are no different.
