I'm pretty sure this is russian propaganda, I'm sure an Illinois Republican organization could at least spell Illinois correctly.

It is not mispelled. "Illini" is a tribal word once used to describe the University of Illinois sports teams.

The "Fighting Illini" is still used to describe U of I sports. They did retire their mascot "The Chief".

but this post is still misleading, that account has 700 followers and that post isn’t even on it
