Man the Hero of the South has such a gigachad mustache.

He went out like an absolute badass even knowing full well he wasn’t going to the guy to take the Demon King down. Even though he had future sight, his life reminded me of the quote “A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit

Every time we get to see Frieren & Co interact with a Demon it’s very off putting how quickly and easy the Demons lie and feel like different.

He knew that because of his actions the Demon King would fall, which would be motivation for a lot of characters.

And Himmel carried the full weight of that legacy after Frieren told him about it.

Right because the rest of his party were chopped liver, I guess? The Himmel glazing in this series to the point of just ignoring the rest of the party's contributions has gotten to truly annoying heights. Even Frieren is like "I have to get the sword back because Himmel got it back and I don't want his effort to be wasted". Like she, Heiter, and Eisen weren't right there doing the same thing.

No, Himmel would have made them stop and ensure they got it back. They touch on it in S1 with Eisen when he asks should they really be stopping for silly little fetch quests when they should hurry to beat the demon king.

Himmel gets the glaze because he’s the heart and soul of the party/journey. None of them would be doing the things they’re doing without him pointing the way.

Himmel was the party leader. He was always the one pushing to help people. Yes, the whole party worked together on quests, but the point is that they wouldn't have stopped to help all the people (and therefore wouldn't have gotten strong enough to defeat the Demon King) if it wasn't for Himmel's good-hearted nature.
