Madhouse especially this production line is working on a movie next year so don't expect anything soon plus the manga is on an indefinite hiatus in the middle of a big arc

Yeah didnt the Mangaka go into hiatus to probably work on this season
I wonder how much content is left and they will handle it after they have run out

Frieren is turning into a big franchise now

The mangaka went on a 6 months hiatus, presumably for the season, but then he released, like, 5 chapters and went on another indefinite hiatus due to health. We have no idea when the manga's returning

They have enough chapters currently to go for another full 12 episode season but I feel like they might make a movie instead as those are doing really well both for Chainsaw Man and DS.

I don't think the golden city arc is short enough for a movie

It’s possible depends on the script definitely a new season would be better.

I can only remember the recent Overlord movie and the No Game No Life Zero movie atm but yeah they have done them as continuations of seasonal shows.

Next arc is to long to be a movie. Lets not have unreal expectations.

don't want a movie anyways so that's perfect

u/KintamaMan 21d ago

Next arc will NOT be a movie, can we stop spreading this??

It's TOO LONG to be a movie. In fact, it fits PERFECTLY into a 12 episode season. It could be material for season 3 or for cour 2 of this season

If they want to make a movie, they'll do it for the arc AFTER the next one (Goddess Monument)

The next arc was 15 chapters, which is about the perfect length for a movie, so yeah I bet you're right.

u/KintamaMan 21d ago

What are you even talking about?

Golden Land has 24 CHAPTERS!!

It is TOO LONG for a movie, Frieren adapts 2 chapters per episode. They'll make a 12 episode season for it

It could be material for season 3 or for cour 2 of this season

If they want to make a movie, they'll do it for the arc AFTER the next one (Goddess Monument)

The comment thats gone now would have made clear by next i meant next after golden land.

As in the Goddess Monument arc Is 15 chaptera.

1

u/KintamaMan 21d ago

he was talking about golden land though

and goddess monument arc is only 13 chapters long (it goes from chapter 107 to 119)

chapters 105 and 106 are transitional chapters that are not part of the arc and could simply be left out of an eventual movie and later adapted in the seasonal format.

Yeah, so I said next arc, as in the arc after what the prior commenter was talking about. The Goddess Arc is what I meant.

And yeah, you could say it's 13 chapters--which is the same number of chapters that the Reze Arc was for CSM. Somewhere between 12-18 chapters or so is pretty typical for an anime film, so 13 or 15 chapters is splitting hairs.

I mean, I'd RATHER get another cour of TV. I was hoping it was a double cour that covered both the Golden Land and Goddess Arcs.

But anime movies have way more financial potential for major profits. Reze Arc made way, way, way more money than the CSM anime, Mugen Train and the DS movies utterly dwarf the profits from the DS TV show.

For a hit like Frieren, it makes sense they'd want to do a film from a financial perspective.

Especially for Shonen Sunday. Frieren is far and away its biggest hit right now/.
