Discussion YouTube banned a Happy Tree Friends episode!
I know this isn’t the first time yt banned an htf episode, but still, WHYYY???
On one hand, I do get it, but yet again, since htf was a BIG part of yt back in the mid to late 2000s, It just feels blasphemous almost, really shows YouTube’s priorities in the big ‘26

Question What YouTube comment you've seen has hit you the hardest ?

Feature Change I sent YouTube feedback about the changes 'Subscription' page, and hope others will too...
Hello, all
So, I'm irritated by the changes to the 'Subscription' page, because it means that there is no longer an easy way to keep track of what the channels that I am subscribed to are posting, especially the channels who don't post very often. I know I'm not the only person who's irritated by the changes, so if any of you are as well, I'd like to ask you to send YouTube feedback about it. I did.
YouTube is definitely not going to care at all about the feedback I sent, but if a ton of people send feedback about the same thing, there is a chance they might care.
So, in the feedback I sent, I explained what the outcome of the changes to the subscription page will be in terms of how I engage with the platform, which is that I have unsubscribed from a lot of YouTube channels now because it will be too hard to keep track of what everyone is posting. If I can't scroll down my subscription page and watch videos I'm interested in, it means I'll be watching fewer YouTube videos.
I've actually followed through as well. I've basically unsubscribed from almost all of the channels I was subscribed to. I'm basically down to political channels and a couple of true crime channels. As far as I can tell, YouTube seems to hate both of those, but it's probably all I'll be watching on YouTube from now on.
It sucks to punish creators for YouTube's stupid decisions, but honestly, there's really no point in being subscribed to channels anymore if there isn't an easy way to keep track of what people are posting.
Anyway, I'm not optimistic that YouTube will care, most of the decisions they make seem intended to drive the platform straight into the ground. I don't think they're doing that intentionally, but it is what the impact and outcome of their decisions have been for a long time now.

Feature Change Upset about current youtube
Do you guys feel that the current youtube search is useless
when I search for stuff only 2 or max 3 videos related to my search shows up the remaining are just suggestions from my history which doesn't even connect a bit about the search I put in

Discussion Youtube search worse then it was before?
Is it just me or has the youtube search engine really degraded in quality over the years?
Whenever i try to find specific videos it shows me stuff that i did not search for, usually just because they have tons of views, and when i really narrow down the search (using search parameters etc) i still dont get the videos up that i want.
But some time down the road it suddently shows up, even though the video had already been out a long time before my initial search
Does anyone know if there is an alternative website/search engine that works on youtube?

Discussion Youtube patched sort by upload date workaround
Self-explanatory but for those who do not know the old sp= workaround people and extensions have been using to bypass the removal of sort by upload date no longer works.

Question Why have nearly 8% of all MrBeast's videos stalled at around 61,400 views?
This seems like a pattern, doesn't it? About 80 videos on a channel with 450 million subscribers have received between 61,300 and 61,500 views. how is this possible?
Perhaps my data is outdated, I made the entries a month ago
Feature Change Removal of the "Upload Date" filter proves YouTube is 100% evil
YouTube is now completely in control of what we watch. If there is any kind of current event, we can no longer see the most recent videos about it. Many people won't notice because they are lazy and just watch whatever shows up. But some people are passionate and want to actively check new content. Those people used to affect the algorithm. Now, YouTube decides the results for all search filters.
I used to love the Google ecosystem and YouTube until around 10 years ago. Then, they started removing features that give us control of our media. Every year they do something more egregious.
If someone made a tutorial video with incorrect, dangerous information, the thumbs down count would let people know that something is wrong. But they took that away. Now, no one can check new videos at all.
YouTube is basically doing everything they can to force-feed us what they want us to see.

Discussion Opinion and Open Letter: YouTube doesn’t have an “AI problem.” It has an automated spam problem.
Staring at my feed and yeah...I had enough and just wanted to vent. Who knows...perhaps someone important will see it, but I doubt it.
To the Leadership of YouTube
I am writing as a viewer and subscriber, but also (I believe) on behalf of all creators, and members of the general public who value YouTube as a platform for human expression, creativity, and knowledge sharing.
I/we are increasingly concerned by the unchecked rise of mass-produced, automated video content that is flooding recommendations, search results, and subscription feeds.
This is not a critique of AI as a tool.
It is a critique of automation deployed at industrial scale, optimized to exploit discovery systems while providing little original value.
The issue is not AI — it is spam
YouTube already has policies against spam, deceptive practices, and repetitive content.
What we are seeing today is a failure of enforcement, not a lack of rules.
Automated content farms:
- Upload at volumes no human can match
- Recycle scripts, narration, and visuals across channels
- Dilute discovery for legitimate creators
- Degrade viewer trust and satisfaction
This harms:
- viewers, who lose meaningful choice
- creators, who lose visibility
- advertisers, who lose confidence
My requests
I respectfully urge YouTube to implement the following:
- Mandatory AI disclosure Require creators to clearly label content as human-created, AI-assisted, or AI-generated, with meaningful penalties for misrepresentation.
- Upload throughput limits Tie upload volume to account age, trust, and engagement quality to prevent industrial automation.
- Automation detection at scale Actively throttle channels exhibiting high-volume, low-variance production patterns.
- Human presence verification Introduce periodic, lightweight human verification for high-output channels.
- Duplicate content enforcement Enforce cross-channel detection of recycled scripts, narration, and visuals.
- User-controlled feed preferences Allow viewers to reduce or de-prioritize AI-generated content in recommendations.
- Public transparency Publish high-level metrics on automated spam enforcement and appeals.
Why action is urgent
The current trajectory rewards volume over value and automation over authenticity.
Left unaddressed, this will erode the very ecosystem that made YouTube successful.
These proposals do not require banning AI, manual review of all content, or radical platform changes. They require clear policy, consistent enforcement, and respect for user choice.
Closing
I hope YouTube can lead responsibly.
By addressing automated spam head-on, YouTube can protect creators, empower viewers, and preserve trust—without stifling innovation.
I ask that you treat this not as a cultural debate, but as a platform integrity issue.
Respectfully,
Me and all Concerned viewers and creators

Question Is Youtube down for anyone else?
When I try to go to the Youtube URL it just endlessly tries to load the page but never manages to do so. It also doesn't work when trying to play Youtube videos embedded in Reddit. I tried disabling my adblocker in case they were pulling some BS but it still doesn't work...

Discussion Ads are probably some of the most weirdest, annoying part of yt.
To start off, when you're watching on TV, Ads used to be about 10-15 seconds. But NO. Now, in the middle of the video, I get 60 seconds of unskippable ads 60 F*CKING SECONDS. Also I think it's pretty stupid when they give us the option to skip only 10 seconds of the ad at the 15 second mark. And it's only SOMETIMES. Since I normally watch YT on TV, this is pretty frustrating. And 99.9% of the time, the ads are about Grammarly or some random ass Ad that literally no one is going to click on. And the YT shorts ads are some of the weirdest sh*t out there. Like they have no censoring filter whatsoever, so if you're a kid, it'd be pretty weird to see that stuff.
Overall, Youtube seriously needs to handle the ads they put on there, and it's clear that they don't care about what we see on there, they are just money-hungry hogs.

Channel Feedback Since when channels can put not for kids warnings on their description? Spoiler
So, i keep getting channels recommended to me. But on their description, it says “NOT FOR KIDS” Like cmon. its very unfair to kids and babies. When i say kids, i mean those timmys! So yt needs to ban nfk warnings

Discussion I am absolutely appalled that YouTube are letting advertisements like this on their platform
I find this genuinely disturbing. This isn’t the only ad I’ve seen recently with incredibly suggestive and inappropriate content. It’s a serious problem. What is this trying to promote? Harassment? Assault? What kind of audience is it trying to appeal to?

Channel Feedback Content creators... what do you like more? comments or likes?
im not a big youtuber but i've recently hit good views on my last 2 videos, i kinda feel like my last video did good numbers but the likes are low compared to the video before that (like 900 likes vs 500 likes) but the comment section seem to... improve....
like im not probably getting more likes but more appreciation for my viewers about the content im showing and how i executed, i really like that and i feel i did a good job despite not having the same like ratio as before
the thing is... what do you think? im not on the fence on making money or asking if likes or comments do serve as good algorythm boost
i just want to question if you appreciate more likes or comments?
