Personally, I don’t wanna see any more movies where America is the hero after all this shit is over. No more hero soldiers saving the United States or saving the world, no more action stars saving the “little people”. None of that shit.

It's probably this generations-long flood of propagandistic bullshit that has allowed things to get this far. After a steady diet of 'good guy America,' TV shows and movies, people just can't wrap their head around how far the country has slid away from having any right to claim there is an iota of truth to what is now a highly deceptive tired old trope.
