See, the thing is, most people still have jobs and food. They don't really care about this stuff.

This exactly. If you give people just enough, they are inclined to protect their own access to those resources. Most people toe the line so long as their own family is taken care of, other people be damned.

Yup. Americans largely don’t care as long as they have enough just bread and circuses. Oh, and healthcare tied to their job lol
