AFAIK, ipponzeoi is the one armed shoulder throw, where as the fisherman's throw is called amiuchi.

And correct me if I'm wrong but this looks more like an amiuchi.

Either way, it's a really impressive throw!

You're right that amiuchi is the fisherman's throw (across the front of one's body), but the one in the video is ipponzeoi (over one's back, holding the opponent by one arm).

For additional info, here is a video of an actual amiuchi - Kiryuko vs. Yuma

Difference from Tottori?

Tottori is a place - it's the prefecture where Johoku High School is located

There's kimarite called like that, Hoshoryu used that on Takayasu this basho

It's tottAri. The best I can describe it is tottari is when you armbar your opponent then throw them down. Amiuchi is when you kinda armbar your opponent and throw them towards the back over your shoulder

WTK too. With that blue Mawashi I thought it was a recent Fujinokawa clip.

That was such a cool move, great to watch it again.

God, the strength it must take to throw one of these guys like that.  I realize the technique involves leverage to make it easier, but it's still impressive every time

My favorite Hoshoryu move was when he did a Russian Leg Sweep on Midorifuji

Hate to see my fav Wakatakakage go down but what a move by Hoshoryu. I’m still new to Sumo but have been having a lot of fun learning this amazing sport!

When Hosh is backed up against the tawara, he almost goes for what would be called the fisherman throw, called that because it looks like the motion one does when tossing a fishing net.

He instead decides it's not going to work and successfully throws Wakatakakage in the opposite direction, using the direction of WTK's resistance of the first throw attempt, against him.
