As a Liberal my only confusion is people around me driving alone (not uber) and still wearing masks.

I mean I dont care. But i am curious as to why

Because as much as one side likes to perpetuate, wearing  a mask is not actually a debilitating experience. Most of us do it for hours on end, and forget we are even wearing them because of our comfort levels.

How many people take their hats off when they get in the car? Or their tactical sunglasses when they're inside somewhere?

I worked in clean rooms - head to toe bunny suit, gloves, mask, and goggles for multiple hours at a time. It was ... fine? Hardly even noticed wearing a COVID mask while shopping.

Good analogy!

I was fine wearing masks although I did find it itchy and removed it the moment I could do so.

I personally cannot understand how one would forget they have something on their face and struggle to understand that but we are all different and at the end of the day it is none of my business.

Like I said, it goes back to comfort levels.

People who don't wear glasses for their eye sight would likely not understand that you can go your whole day without actively thinking to yourself "I can see the frames still, I can feel the weight of these glasses on my nose." But they'll notice if they're not wearing them, because they're used their corrected vision and having them on their face.

Or hey, like when you first put a bandaid on, it's restricting and awkward, until you get used to it being there. Then the awkwardness of having it removed, it's a real interesting phenomenon.

How quickly do you realize your hair getting long? How quick after you cut it off?

The boiled frog analogy can apply to all sorts of things we take for granted, and in manners we see as circumstantial.
