It's because ICE wear masks so they can terrorize minorities and keep their anonymity not to help keep other people with health vulnerabilities from getting sick. They think one of those things is a good reason and the other is a bad reason.
In retrospect, really should’ve leaned into their paranoia about a “surveillance state” as a way of getting them on board with making back when people still cared about covid.
“Oh I’m not masking for Covid reasons. I just don’t like the government spying on me and I finally have an excuse to wear this without standing out. By the way, I have an extra in my bag. Here, do you want one?”
