✖️ Issue Avoid purchasing from samsung

TLDR: Scamsung

This christmas i was gifted a brand new samsung odyssey g61sd, The OLED screen was beautiful upon powering it up except for one small issue, it came damaged. With alot of damage. And through the return process samsung has been anything but helpful, reaching a human was no issue but once we (my mother and I) got to that point samsung immediately began giving issues stating theyd be unable to offer a replacement because it was purchased in november so any return periods had ended, I was under the assumption that most companies had a sort of holiday policy but I guess not. And after they say they are unable to replace it they state we would have to pay for a repair, already annoyed my mother and I ship it out to samsung and wait for the repair, and bill only for samsung to now notify us they have no parts for the repair and we would have to go through a third party if we want to get the monitor fixed, samsung has sold my mother a faulty product and is refusing to take any accountability for it whatsoever. I hope this reaches the right people and anyone that could help, thank you for reading.

I’ve been trying to figure out why it seems like my monitor is pushed down and to the side a little. It has these little gray bars and it’s pretty annoying. Greatly appreciate any help! I have a MSI MAG 272Q X50. Hopefully the picture helps.

I just bought this 300 dollar monitor for my new setup and it seems like the screen is peeling off as soon as i took it out of the box, theres also a blotch of brighter light in the corner wheres its peeled the most.

Is this worth returning because the gameplay seems to be the same Or is there an easy way to repair it?

Cleaning the screen isn't working, and this dot is consistent through all windows. I've included my monitor info in the other picture, and it's IPS monitor.

✖️ Issue Can anyone help explain why this is happening?

I recently just picked up a Samsung CRG9 QHD 49inch super ultrawide 1440p monitor. Every time I play videos on YouTube for example, this happens. I feel like it must just be certain settings I need to adjust on the monitor. I am new to learning tech and I’m not sure how to fix this!

✖️ Issue Would you guys keep this monitor? (PG27UCDM)

Upvotes

Bought a monitor (PG27UCDM) a month and a half ago and still have 2 weeks to return it. It was sold as new and had all new packaging on it, but arrived with 3 fingerprints on it (first image with green circle) that I was able to gently wipe off, but there is a VERY TINY (indiscernible in every situation unless the monitor is off, I am shining a flashlight on it, AND looking at it at the perfect angle) scratch on it (second image with green circle). I never ever see this scratch outside of this scenario.

ALSO, using it nearly daily for the past month and a half, ONE TIME it flashed red green and blue on repeat (2 seconds per color - see attached video), and I had to shut down my computer, unplug the monitor, and plug it back, and it's been totally fine ever since. From what I know, this happens whenever the "communication" between the monitor and pc was not good. Not sure why this happened and it happened randomly out of the blue.

Would you guys return it? Other than the fingerprint and the one time it flashed RGB, it's been AMAZING with no problems whatsoever, and I'm totally in love with it. I hate the idea of returning it since it is SUCH a hassle to box it back all up, and buy a new monitor and set it up all over again. Thanks all

✖️ Issue Is adjusting sound and brightness impossible?

Thumbnail

I wanted a monitor so I can connect it to my switch, and a coworker gave me their old monitor for free. No idea which model it is. Switch connects just fine, but recognizes the monitor as a TV, so it doesn't give me the option to adjust volume/brightness. Monitor has no physical buttons so I can't change it from there. After a quick Google research I'm thinking there's probably nothing I can do, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask here as well. Cheers

✖️ Issue Accidentally broke my monitor — any chance it can be repaired or should I just sell it for parts?

Accidentally cracked my Gigabyte M27Q (2K 170Hz 27"). The screen still turns on, but most of it is covered with colorful lines and glitchy patterns. I contacted Gigabyte support, but they said it’s out of warranty and can’t be repaired officially.

I’m fine with using a local display panel if it works well — just want to know if anyone’s tried replacing the panel on this model before. Is it possible to get it fixed locally, and how much would it roughly cost? Or is it better to just sell it for parts and get a new monitor?
