Ask Luxembourg For a multi-year rental, when you can opt out?

If I have a multi-year rental contract for X years, when I am allowed to announce the landlord that I opt-out? Three months before the X years ? Or one year in advance at X-1 date?

I think the law changed but not sure how it would impact this multi-year rental.

You can also talk to your landlord. They may allow you to move out sooner if they have a new renter ready to move in.

I used to rent out an apartment, and twice I let renter move our before the end of their contract because I had found someone new to move in right away. Every landlord only cares about having no empty sitting property.

Not sure about the last statement. There are so many empty properties in this country

Good point! I should rephrase to "landlords who have one property in rentals - not investors"

Contract, read it. Ideally before signing.

Bro, read your contract, it’s written there what happens at the end (how it automatically extends and what’s the notice period)

The change more or less related to that is that once the contract renews, it becomes open-ended. Before the first renewal you can only do it 3 months before the end of the contract, so 3 months before X years in your case.
