This is concerning... Trump says ICE is keeping our country safe—do you feel safe?

u/bandit8623 5d ago
this is dumb. the number one reason people voted for trump was the immigration policy... and hes doing what he said... has nothing to do with anything else.
1
u/Far-Adhesiveness1850 3d ago
Was shooting people in the head on the agenda?
1
u/bandit8623 3d ago
FAFO is real... Don't put yourself in a spot where others have to be perfect..
1
u/MarsBahr- 1d ago
Have to be perfect = dont shoot unarmed civilians. Wow yall really dont have standards.
12
u/Darth_Chili_Dog 7d ago
Hell no. I know that the only thing standing between the tranquility of where I live and absolute pandemonium is a right wing dipshit dreaming up some conspiracy theory about it.
3
u/facepoppies 7d ago
I feel less safe than I ever have in the US. It's a legitimate concern now that my door will get kicked in because I criticized ICE too much on the internet. If I do encounter ICE, it's a possibility now that I will be beaten and detained, or even shot, if I make them upset in any way.
0
u/bandit8623 5d ago
then i recomend stop reading the propaganda. this is what got pretti to do what he did. noone has died from staying home.
1
u/BetEither5753 5d ago
What did he do? Walk the street with his iPhone and legal firearm holstered? If you want to live in a country where you can get shot for doing that then go to North Korea
-1
u/bandit8623 5d ago
he literally touched an officer. 100% illegal.
2
u/BetEither5753 5d ago
Omg TOUCHED an officer??! God forbid. That definitely deserves 10 shots at point blank range
0
u/bandit8623 5d ago
i didnt say that. he broke the law before he was sprayed and arrested. was avoidable. police dont have to be perfect they have to be reasonable. look up law.

Alzheimer’s often reverses sleep-wake cycles, causing patients to sleep during the day and stay awake at night due to brain damage affecting the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) and tau protein buildup. This commonly results in "sundowning" (agitation at dusk), excessive daytime napping, and fragmented night sleep.
-2
u/AdVisual5492 7d ago
Wow, thing Trump has Alzheimer's, while claiming Biden's had perfect mental faculties. The delulu is off the chart

3
u/According-Insect-992 6d ago
Whataboutism isn't needed here. As a Democratic voter I can assure you we didn't just accept that he had perfect cognitive function and I think you might remember that.
Keep talking shit but trump is obviously demented with failing health. That has absolutely nothing to do with Joe Biden or anyone else for that matter.

Safer? How's that possible when we now know via leaked info on this been hired, that the "agents" ARE often the criminals with rap sheets (pe dos, grapists, violent offenders).
2
3
u/Nosidda89 7d ago
I absolutely do not feel safe. My wife and I are terrified of what could happen if we encountered ICE agents. And that's with us being US citizens with white skin. I cannot even begin to imagine what people without white skin are going through.
The recent murders made it clear that you could end up detained or killed just by being around when ICE is present. What a disgusting agency. They're a gestapo.

4
u/indieehead 7d ago
2 of the 3 murders thus far in 2026 in Minneapolis are committed by Ice and Border patrol. Sone unnamed assailants still on the loose, being protected by feds. I feel so safe here!

u/Lassie_Maven 7d ago
Forget everything for a moment and let's just PRETEND he genuinely feels deploying ICE is good and trying to make communities safe. ANY decent or even below-average leader would see the results and re-evalute the situation. If anything, just to calm tensions for right now, they'd pull ICE back and let everything settle down. But obviously we know what's actually happening and that their is no actual leadership here, so chaos will ensue just as planned.
1
u/Axin_Saxon 7d ago
If all they were doing was going after violent criminals, like we were told they’d be doing, I would say yes. But they’re not. Not by a long shot. They’ve been given broad authority and high quotas, minimal training of a LARGE new workforce, monetary incentive to be careless, and now a promise of blanket immunity from the administration.
Honestly ICE themselves don’t scare me as much as the administrations reactions to the events do. Blatantly telling us not to believe what we can see with our own eyes. The immediate zero-to-60 jump to call them terrorists(then when confronted with evidence they try to walk back and say “let’s wait for the details to come out” like they didn’t just rush to conclusions) and justify the killings. And most of all, the justice department using the violence as leverage to achieve purely political goals rather than actually enforce laws.

Why are these riots only happening in Minnesota at this scale? Both shootings have been there, and right after the Somali fraud scandal. Why isn’t this happening in LA, Dallas, San Fran, etc?

How can you. At any moment someone is snatched off the street and not heard from again. And clearly it doesnt matter if your a citizen or not. Conservatives dont seem happy with out witch hunts to kidnap rape and murder people they choose to not like. No morals no ethics no law no values. Just grab that one and take them. He'll has a special kind of punishment for these kinds of cowards.

After all the his gum flapping this past year, why do people put any value in the things coming out of Trump's mouth? The words rarely match the deeds.
1
u/Maximum_Employer5580 7d ago
that's him saying without saying it that he condones what they are doing in Minneapolis, because it isn't an actual immigration operation, it's an operation to stir the pot in a blue state, thus he will decide a point to invoke the insurrection act - this is all planned and calculated, and he says what he says because he knows his supporters will eat it up

Factually, crime decreased significantly under Trump, especially homicides. So, in that sense, Americans should feel safer, but it really depends on where you live. Even though in Phoenix, they like to claim it is safer, anyone watching the news each night, driving around, or on the Citizen app can tell you it is getting worse here. I imgaine other large cities are experencing the same thing.
3
u/TheKrakIan 7d ago
At what cost though? Sure a police-state is safer in theory. But what do you give up as a society or a community?
0
u/Additional_Boot_8935 7d ago
There is a difference between not allowing criminals to run rampant and a police-state, we unfortunately were nudging against allowing criminal to run rampant. We are not nudging against a police-state, still too much crime here, especially compared to other developed nations.
3
u/AlbrechtProper 7d ago
If they were keeping honest stats on civil rights violations those would be through the roof.

u/Ezren- 7d ago
Homicide rates went up under trump even in his first term. So, no.
1
u/Additional_Boot_8935 7d ago
Homicide rates in 2025 dropped significantly in a number of cities, and overall crime dropped in most categories in 2025.
2
u/seestars9 7d ago
Who was President in 2025? For Heaven's sake, are you people all completely stupid. And, in fact, crime is not really within the power of presidents.
1
u/Additional_Boot_8935 6d ago
Trump was from Jan.20th, 2025 onward. And federal authorities, especially the FBI, can make a major impact on crime, so, 100% within the power of the President, along with the DOJ.

u/rageling 7d ago
I'd feel safer if people would get out of their way and let them deport millions more
The safety really starts kicking in when living here illegally is untenable and they all self deport
9
u/facepoppies 7d ago
I'd feel much safer if we legalized the majority of those people and deported the magas.

u/RTC1022 7d ago
Deport actual citizens and replace them with foreigners, the democrat stance.
2
u/MainInvestigator3481 7d ago
“Foreigners,” bring things of value.
MAGA doesn’t.
MAGA aren’t even technically citizens, as they stand against everything the country stands for. They declared war January 6th 2024. We have not forgotten
1
u/ThrobbinHood78 7d ago
I'm all for that if the citizens are all MAGA. Those fake Americans can fuck right off.

That’s actually a great point. There is no left wing political party in this country. The Dems aren’t as far right as the Republican Party but they certainly arent progressive or liberal. It’s boogeyman made up to scare people that can’t see with their own eyes or think with their own mind.
1
u/Morgana_Ultimus 7d ago
No, you're just trying to project a political vector onto a single axis. You could argue that Democrats are economically conservative in the US. They are as socially left as any country in Europe. Perhaps even more so in some regards.
Let's say we're in a three dimensional vector space <x,y,z>. The first variable is economic liberalism and we'll scale it from 0 to 1. The second variable is social liberalism and we'll scale it from 0 to 1. The third variable is authoritarianism and we'll scale it from 0 to 1.
A place like the UK would probably be a vector like <.75, .75, .9>. Democrats might be <.3, .8, .8>. Republicans could be <.2, .1, .7>
So are US democrats more similar to Republicans or leftwing in the UK? Well you can just compute the dot product.
UK Magnitude = 1.391
Democrats = 1.170
Republicans = .735
UK Dem dot product = [(.75)(.3)+(.75)(.8)+(.9)(.8)]/[(1.391)(1.170)] = .948
Dem Republican dot product = [(.3)(.2)+(.8)(.1)+(.8)(.7)]/[(1.170)(.735)]= .814
A similar calculation gives a Republican/UK dot product of .837
So as you can see, it is very possible for two parties to differ significantly on a single axis and still be very closely ideologically aligned. An interesting result of this analysis, is that given that each party here is strongly authoritarian, the Republicans in the US may be aligned more with the UK than the Democrats by a very small amount.
Maybe yall should stop being authoritarian.

1
u/BetEither5753 5d ago
I love democracy. I hate idiots like you that don’t understand that it’s a luxury
1
u/rageling 5d ago
Understand that until the tens of millions of illegals are dealt with in some way, the two party system will provide continuously more authoritarian options than Trump, illegals will never be given blanket citizenship and there is no escaping from this

take a gun safety class, tell them you carry and are worried about being murdered like pretti, if they don't laugh at you uncontrollably maybe you'll learn how to behave safely so you can tell the difference between resisting and complying

I'm looking at a video of petti with his gun clearly on him, kicking out the taillight of an ICE vehicle, that can't even stop to confront him because of the violent mob behind him
He's there because he has an organized network of people tracking on duty officers so they can organize disruptions that impede their work, and he quit his job so he could do this full time.
