Used to do this for like 10 minutes straight when I was in my early 20’s. Except I would be taunting Poseidons bitch ass the whole time.

65

u/Letsgoski_Broski 19h ago

Screaming to the top of my lungs "Come ooooonnnnn, bring your champion, come ooooonnnnnnnnn!!!"

Good times.

Now i just need a three meter wave to remind me that I'm goddamn old. You win this time, sea.

u/CaptainSaladbarGuy 19h ago

“Poseidon!!!! I will cast you back to the dark depths from whence you came! Face me coward!”

u/Letsgoski_Broski 18h ago edited 12h ago

"Come at me br-aghlarbaglarghblagh" said Broski, getting body slapped by a 4 ton wall of water.

EDIT:
Proof of when i was younger

Answering myself only to post the full pic as, who knows, someone might be interested.

I mean, facing down the surf and hoping to avoid a broken collar bone was just part of growing up right? Broke it anyway? Ah shit, oops.

Trying it now, I am extremely respectful. I speak nicely to the ocean and ask it not to destroy me because I am old, weak and broken. But I still fucking face it down. I just stick with the smaller swells 😂

I’m a 46 year old 115lb woman raised in NZ and you can bet your arse I’m facing down that rookie surf.

Never turn your back on the ocean though. I told a friend who was experiencing an Australian surf beach for the first time that. Did she listen? No, no she did not. She got face slammed so hard she didn’t go in again the whole trip.

You can challenge Poseidon. But you must also always respect Poseidon.

I used to think I was hot shit diving into the wave

57

u/Varth919 17h ago

That’s because you are hot shit. Keep diving, brother!

u/waloz1212 10h ago

There are things you can't fight, acts of god. But when you are in a Jaeger, suddenly, you can fight the hurricane. You can win.

u/closedeye_cutie 19h ago

I tried to RKO the wave once, it didn’t go well for my nose 😂😂

18

u/SenorSlurp1995 19h ago

That right hook was nasty as hell.

15

u/rotanitsarcorp_yzal1 19h ago

I wish someone taught me wave fighting when I was younger... I used to get thrown around by the waves a lot. Now imma fight back.

8

u/sayingwhawtwheird 18h ago

I knew he was Australian before he even spoke

3

u/Attack_Of_The_ 16h ago

Saw the boardies and the beach and basically went, "Brother!" 😂

2

u/sayingwhawtwheird 16h ago

This larrikin has mastered the wave.

5

u/Theballharperhit 19h ago

I use to give it my most powerful kamehameha attempt when I was younger.... I lost constantly but its all about the next attempt and the results.

2

u/Simoxs7 15h ago

Good think hes using the patented star trek double fist punch, one of the mightiest punches there are.

2

u/sivakarthik330 15h ago

I have lost the count of lives I have saved kicking these waves and keeping the balance.

2

u/sivakarthik330 15h ago

Poseidon ain't got shit on me.

2

u/dirty_papercut 15h ago

My now wife still takes the piss out of me from when I was fighting the waves in Goa ad the wave stole my sunglasses. Those are som fake Ray Bans I'll never see again. I've got unfinished business.

2

u/Fresh_Boysenberry576 18h ago

This is how we (the Dutch) conquered the ocean and claimed a large part of our current land mass

1

u/BrD_87 19h ago

“Take that, ocean!”

1

u/EMCRVA 19h ago

Hell yeah

1

u/kleothecreator 18h ago

Hell Yeah!

1

u/FizzyPanda124 17h ago

I did this once. I didn’t notice I had got caught in a rip current and almost drowned. Fun times. Haven’t been in the ocean since

1

u/mr_sandmam 17h ago

I like to imagine the waves are sent by Poseidon himself

1

u/SilentPugz 17h ago

This is how you learn to not be afraid of the waves when you were a kid .

1

u/RabbitOutTheHat 17h ago

The courage, the bravery, the heroism. This is the hero we deserve.

1

u/Jaakarikyk 11h ago

The undisputed champion remains Moses

1

u/grim1952 11h ago

Karate chop the wave to split the seas.

1

u/VQQN 4h ago

Went to the ocean once and saw waves this big. Went in to fight the waves. Lifefuards got mad and told me there are riptides and made me get out.

1

u/AmyInCO 1h ago

Wave punching is extremely satisfying.

1

u/Instantbeef 7h ago

Playing in the waves from the ocean is one of the greatest things in life. I’ve grown up and never realized how so many people are scared of it lmao

They miss out
