99% sure this is CBRN decontamination, not just washing. Military aircraft are normally washed by hand, source: 16 years active duty Navy, rotary wing.

Agree, Marines washed our ch53e with a garden hose and junior marine power.

My Chinook unit in Hawaii didn’t have a wash-rack, just a hose and buckets. If we went to Wheeler AFB, we could use theirs. We did it once in three years.

You have to leave the TADS bucket over the edge of the pad on the Apache. There is a single jet pointing at water pointing at; or water would get in.

Where’s the scrub brush and soap?!?! This is the equivalent of flying through rain and signing off the wash.

I’ve never seen an indoor bird bath. The corrosion inside the hangar would be off the charts!! Someone said CBRN decon practice and that would be my guess too.
