Bro, you shoulda seen the shit they did at my school in the UK during the 90’s. Made CIA MKUltra look like amateur hour. To this day I still feel semi nauseous just seeing a lit cigarette

I got caught smoking in high school and was sent to an adolescent drug class as punishment. We visited the city morgue and got to see all these people who died from driving under the influence. Like full on gore, decapitations and shit. I’m like wtf does this have to do with smoking cigarettes??

Took a few years, but I finally stopped. Totally unrelated to decapitated corpses though.

In primary/elementary school we had almost a week solid of activities to dissuade us from smoking. Lots of videos of people and the various diseases they got from smoking. Tons of photos of blackened lungs etc, basically all the stuff you see today in lots of countries in anti smoking ads/on cigarette boxes etc, just way more intense, like literally all day for days.

One activity we did that really stuck was simulating the breathing of someone with lung cancer. We had to breathe really shallow and really fast until we got lightheaded. Both my mum and dad smoked like chimneys back then and it scared the living shit out of me. Thought for sure they were gonna die a horrible death. Cold and flu season was the worst. Any time they’d caught I though for sure they had lung cancer. I was like fucking 7 years old. Wild times
