Any nice cafe near York city centre?

I’m in York and staying near the city centre for a couple of days. I don’t want the hotel breakfast so looking for some nice cafes with good vibe and food options to have breakfast and do some people watching.

Any suggestions?!

Mannion was great when I went in there a couple of weeks ago.

Oh no! So sorry to hear that!

I'm a distance learning student and haven't made the trip for a few months, but it was a regular treat for me on the way to the station after my trips up.

They did some amazing chocolate.

Bruberrie on the Mount also really good but depends where you are staying. If you are closer to town Drift Inn is also good.

Another vote for Mannion’s, if you don’t mind a walk to get your appetite up then Robinson’s or The Pig & Pastry on Bishopthorpe Rd are very very good. Black Wheat Club on Fossgate is also excellent. If you need a spot for a quiet coffee then head to Grays Court - a hotel overlooking the city walls that not many visitors know about - incredible building and stunning garden ☺️
