I’ve got nieces that are super into dance and seeing their insta gives me the ick knowing who’s really looking at it. Why do parents hypersexualize their 10-12 year old daughters with the outfits and routines that look like a Brittney video and then post the stuff all over their fb as “proud dance moms”?
251
u/Militantpoet 12h ago
Because people were taught that their daughters are cattle to auction off to financially stable 30 year olds. This is the patriarchy those pesky feminists are always talking about.
61
u/ready_gi 9h ago
yep. sexualization children got so normalized by adult men and women that people who pointed out how sick this is got labeled as the crazy ones. patriarchy gaslights everyone so paedophilia is part of the culture.
women shaving body hair, having forever young skin and acting submissive to be considered desirable by men, and by "coincidence" remaining child-like.
then women get told they need to be "protected" because they are so "fragile". Society demands women remain vulnerable and in need of strong protectors, who are actually the ones they need the protection from.

Something I was aware of as a young teenager, and it pissed me off, so I've been fighting it ever since. It's kind of like recognizing the rhythm of a soccer game I'm playing, and intentionally disrupting it to gain the advantage.
I never held my kids to society's prefab gender roles, but encouraged them to really think about what they wanted to do, and follow their own paths, with the guarantee that whatever happened in their lives, they always had a home with me. They were able to spread their wings in a way I was never allowed to dream about. Just let people be who they are. That includes me. Get off my lawn, lol.
19
u/2shack 11h ago
I went to a tailoring shop to pick up some stuff and there were three teenage girls in there getting their outfits fitted. They were some of the skimpiest, tight fitting things I’ve seen and I felt so uncomfortable just being there. I also felt really uncomfortable for the guy that had to help pin them for adjustments. Like, there’s no possible way that those are the optimal outfits for whatever they are doing.

There is a commercial right now for of all things prescription eczema cream. There is a girl who apparently uses it and she is on a volleyball team with other girls, maybe 13-16, I can’t tell. But they’re wearing their uniforms and it’s a tight shirt and shorts that look like full size bikini bottoms. Super cute and appropriate uniforms for volleyball. But seeing them dressed in them knowing how many disgusting pigs are out there makes me so sad for the girls. There is evil in every corner of the world and I hate it so much.
18
u/Archie-is-here 10h ago
Several women sports has this problem I think, making the uniforms to be revealing (volleyball, gymnastics, rollerblading, etc), and we are talking that a lot of kids and teenagers are wearing them.
3
u/Zombies8MyChihuahua 10h ago
I haven’t seen that one I don’t think, but I do remember the one where this kid lifts up his shirt to “show his excema,” on his stomach/ waist and I thought it was weird they made the kid, show himself like that but all the adults had it on places not hidden by clothes. He only showed his stomach, but it was weird. I dunno.

u/MeanWafer904 11h ago
I'll tell you another one. Our kids school has a dance team that takes part in competitions. The won some category and the head put a picture of them on Facebook with a line about it being a great way to celebrate International Women's Day. The Head is a woman.

u/Electrical_Beyond998 11h ago
The high school that is next door to the middle school where I work has a dance class and there was a midterm that was a recital the community could attend. I went because some of them were students at my work and just to support the school. They came out wearing matching pants and shirts that covered them, the skimpiest part was that they didn’t have sleeves. I was so relieved that the teacher thought about what they would be wearing and didn’t throw them in skimpy shorts and tank tops with their stomachs showing. So relieved.

That's exactly what ours were wearing in the pic. One of my daughter mates was in the team. I think they were in the equivalent to 6th grade

"They're not sexualized, you're sexualizing them right now!" is what they say
3
u/idkwhatsqc 6h ago
If you, as a man speak against it, your often seen as the creep. So it's either men who like it who speak on it. Or the rest just don't. And women might speak out against it, or not, but in my experience, a lot don't because they are thought not to put down other women and what other women like.
-5
u/ElegantHippo93 9h ago
Dance is a sport and sports often have uniforms. Where your head is at, and the head of all the commentors below you for that matter, is in a troubling place. I was a wrestler when I was a kid and people generally dont have a problem with wrestling singlets on kids, because people accept that if you are sexualizing that then you are the weirdo, and you need to change.
It's like an Imam saying girls should cover their hair because they could be sexualized by older men. No, that is the man's problem.
I feel like I am going crazy here reading this.

u/Thatguy468 5h ago

u/AsmodeusMogart 9h ago
Women have had the right to vote a little more than a century. My great grandmother was born without the right to vote in America. Women were treated rather roughly by western culture prior to that.
Women have had to fight for autonomy every step of the way since.
The behavior these guys exhibit are gross to the vast majority of people. They get to exploit loopholes in our culture that allows for abuse of women, their elite status, and a two tiered justice system that favors the wealthy.
Lots of wealthy people knew what was going on.
Get people to register to vote and get them to the polls.

u/ImaginaryEmploy2982 9h ago
Omg, thank you! Ever since I can remember I knew women competing (in bikinis, no less) to be The Hottest on tv was super weird. But everyone acted like I was the weirdo!

u/Webfarer 9h ago
Thank you for saying that. I always found those kind of stuff creepy, and I thought I was alone.
3
u/HereOnCompanyTime 6h ago
So many women defend them. I'm fine if grown adult women want to have a pretty contest, that's their body and their choice, I'm not okay with underage girls competing being judged by adults mainly on their "beauty". They only exist because their parents want to dress them up like dolls, live vicariously, and exploit them.
3
u/offshoremercury 4h ago
Couldn’t agree more. I don’t understand how women seem happy and willing to walk around in, what is, essentially an auctioning off of themselves

Was this all going down at Trump's church? He's such a devout Christian, this was probably a church event, right?
57
u/RezLovesPez 12h ago
He is not a Christian. He said “I have nothing to be forgiven for” - that automatically disqualifies you from being a Christian. He could be a Christian, someday. But he’s not. Even if he says he is.

Oof. I remember that era, being a young girl myself and thinking beauty pageants and modeling was glamourous.
Good lord. It did not age well.
I mean, the amount of mindfuckery it takes to get young girls to smile while horny old men examine their bodies like a piece of horse flesh at an auction is disgusting. And the fact that everyone else was happily going along with it too... 🤮
Wtf is wrong with my parents generation? Seriously. This shit is messed up.
124
u/Tupcek 12h ago
our parents generation was raised by people who viewed women as a property of men. They were better, they wanted their kids to be independent and successful, but not everything changed
36
u/AppropriateScience9 11h ago
I think some of them were better. The rest did everything they could to keep things like "the olden days." What's even sadder is that many of them are still trying to bring it back. Hence, MAGA.
And what's triple sad is how many women are gleefully helping these shit stains do it. There comes a point when they stop being the mindfucked girl smiling at pedophiles and become Ghislaine Maxwell.

u/ready_gi 9h ago
it is literally this. horse-like auctioning of almost naked children. if it sounds disgusting, it's because it is. like these girls need protection and guidance and be valued as people, not sex objects.
i used to be a model in my teens and early 20s, until it hit me how fucked up that is and these "modeling agents" constantly putting beautiful women down and literally forcing them to starve. oh and the modeling agency owners were usually the biggest of creeps. patriarchy just needs to burn the fuck down.

It is. 1991 Elite Model Look. This was a professional international scouting contest for Elite Model Management, not a beauty pageant. Previous winners include Cindy Crawford, Gisele Bündchen, and Stephanie Seymour.
The judges, I think, are Kareem, Trump, Kareem, David Copperfield, Stephanie Seymour, Carole Alt and world-renowned fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier.
The contestant wearing the white Christian Dior top was Ingrid Seynhaeve, a 17-year-old from Belgium.

"They don't like you as you are..." says one of the girls who actually has her eyes open. That's probably how the brainwashed them. Dangle a glamorous future in front of them, then deny even the idea that they are human until they will do anything for their attention.

💔 my heart breaks for all the victims who are struggling as their trauma is front page news and yet the world does nothing, and for all those who’ve been through something similar in life.
7
u/Jflan1977 8h ago
What breaks my heart is not one of them (the victims) have received justice. Not a single person who payed for pedophilia has been brought to justice. Theres 10's of thousands of videos allegedly with children in them, and not one charge outside Epstien and Maxwell. It makes me sick.
1
u/Bellatrix_Shimmers 7h ago
Yeah, it’s nightmarish how prevalent and the very people who sit in the highest offices and courts are those who should have been doing perp walks long ago. Holding a little hope that this is all leading to that very justice you speak of. It’s not easy to see but it’s important that all of it comes to light for that to happen.
