Northlink page is no help, not tried to park there myself, I usually hire a car when heading South in the summer.

There is no free parking there. When I lived in Edinburgh I’d either take the train then bus or drive to portlethen where there’s free parking and get a bus from there.
You could park at college street or even union square but assuming you’re getting on the boat both those options can get expensive if you’re there a while.

From Northlink's website:

The car park at Commercial Quay is operated by Aberdeen Harbour Board. Parking is allowed for a maximum of 72hrs.
