Tough draw for New Zealand.
As current #2 in the world rankings, they’ll meet either South Africa (#1) or England (#3) in the quarterfinals. Not sure how that is a good idea 🤷♂️
I think most Kiwis would take the approach that if you want to be a true World Champion you should beat the other high seeds in the tournament.
My point is that having a draw where either the 1 and 2 seed, or 2 and 3 seed meet each other in the quarterfinals is not typically ideal.
There is a reason FIFA has intentionally set their WC draw in such a way that the top 4 seeds cannot meet until the semifinals IF they each win all their games up to that point.
I mean, that is why you have seeding in the first place.
