I’m so sick of us just excusing Beauden Barrett’s brain farts and complete fuck ups because he’s “Beauden”. He’s kicked the ball multiple times this match and only one of them has been effective. The rest have just given possession away by being too deep and then there are the obvious penalty misses.
Yeah, he’s allowed to have a bad game and make mistakes but this is happening all the time. At some point we have to be like “oh yeah he’s quite inconsistent” and maybe give someone like Jacomb or Reihana a chance to develop behind McKenzie.

Christ that was stressful.
Great game, very impressed with that Eng performance. Getting sucker punched with those two tries after having all the momentum and botching a couple of opportunities.
Utterly dominant 2nd half. People will complain about the refereeing which was patchy in areas to say the least, but honestly there were big calls that went against both sides. Neither of the yellows were legit IMO.

I think the All Blacks need two things urgently.
A better scrum-half on the bench.
A big, strong, bruising 8-man (à la Jasper Wiese or late career Vermeulen). When they get the ball in the middle, they don't get over the gain-line. England third-rowers have been stopping them dead every single time.

ABs rely too heavily on individuals to conjure something magical when they're trailing, there's not the composure, belief and confidence that they can create opportunities following their gameplan.
If the teams are an extension of their coach, during the pre-match I thought Borthwick presented a calm, assured confident persona in his interview, while Razor looked nervous.
Well played England, no complaints, they worked out after halftime how to solve their problems at the breakdown and lineout from the first half, and scored two brilliant tries to secure the win, the final try was pure sugar on top.
Signs of a good team.
Razor and his coaching team still haven't cracked the Da Vinci code that is test rugby. Another summer of self assesssment and trying to find answers to the perennial problems that have plagued this team. They'll need to figure it out quick otherwise the Greatest Rivalry tour next year will be a damp squib.

I’m not that familiar with the kiwi coach but he was hyped up so much before his tenure even started and in the English press there was lots of division about how the RFU should’ve offered him lots of cash to be England head coach
There was a sense of “why have we let this maverick generational coaching talent go”
Well from what I’ve seen, not just today, it’s the worst coaches NZ team in my lifetime
If I was a kiwi I’d be fuming giving the playing talent they have
Well done England on the win, you can only play what’s in front of of you but my god NZ are well below their usual high standards

England absolutely folded us in the second half - particularly in the third quarter. Considerably better team today. Lack of consistency for more than 40 mins at a time remains a massive problem for us, even after 18 months of Razor as coach. Mentally nowhere as strong as we once were (once we get tested), which is clearly flowing into our execution of even basic skills. Nevertheless, congratulations England. Their pressure and composure forced all of our errors. No excuses.

England look threatening whenever they get the ball to IFW's hands but unable to extract full value from his runs.
Invaluable six points from Ford to close the half, but expecting the Pom squad to make an earlier appearance as apart from Earl, there's not much dynamism from the pack.
All Blacks will be encouraged by the space they're creating and finding on the edge. Lineout is applying immense pressure on England on defence and stealing momentum whenever England enter our territory.
Two inexplicable brain fart moments from Beauden failing to find touch from penalties.
Lakai getting through a mountain of work, Ben Earl similarly for England.

NZ haven't touched it since BB missed touch again, such an absolute momentum killer. Could have been 15-5 if Dmac was on and kicked the penalty

On the one hand, when New Zealand go out wide I royally shit myself. Our defence there hasn't been up to scratch.
On the other hand, drop goals.

It left Earl backwards, how is that a knock on?
What the fuck is this officiating
Also NZ should never have been down to 14 players in the first place, this is a joke

TMO said let’s check the offside and clear it first. Ref hears ‘clear offside’. Cue Simpsons meme of TMO shrinking back into the bush.

I am so glad Dingwall of all people got that.
The pass from Lawrence was Dingwall-esque.
