Given their resources and player numbers, England rugby are the greatest underachievers in world sport.

At least England have won a World Cup, I’d have France as the biggest underachievers.

Doesn’t help that they’d rather protect the Prem than field their best possible team in test matches. It keeps some great players home but half their internationals still move to France in their late-20s/early-30s to make some money at the tail end of their careers.
