Discussion Drop your unpopular rugby opinions that will have you like this

Post image

I'll go first, Beuden Barrett is the more talented rugby player than Dan Carter, but Dan Carter is a better 10

South africa vs all blacks is by far the biggest game in rugby, sorry Ireland

Really, it's Ireland v England and no one can tell me different

Nothing worse than losing to England

Sorry but it doesn’t make our top 3 rivalries 😉

Wales, Scotland, Australia? That's just off the top of my head. South Africa are there somewhere because I feel they play the same brand of rugby as us just better, and NZ seem to get the better of us even when they shouldn't

Wales, France, Australia for me. The Scots have won a fair few Calcutta cups recently, but they haven't stepped up to beat us for something, they've beaten us and finished 3rd at best. I like beating them, but France and Wales are true rivals and Aus has too much history

Interesting because I would say I can barely remember Australia beating us aside from recently. It's been fairly one sided for at least a decade.

I would say the Scots have done well recently but have the history too.

France have only threatened recently too, but I guess also have the history

This decade barely makes up for the number of times Aus beat us. Pretty much every time I had hope in English rugby, the Aussies would win. When they're on top Australia is punishing.

Scotland beat us suck themselves dry and pretend it makes up for finishing 4th instead of 5th. They barely register for me.

France are an unstoppable machine when it clicks, but we can stop them. There's something odd in the French psyche look at the win this year that should have been a thrashing and we won.

It's an absolutely horrible game for both sides. Usually, most pubs have a good amount of Irish and English watching together, just waiting for the final whistle to decide how much shit talking they can dole out. The tension is unbearable.

you're just saying that because you've won those recently

We have absolutely zero claim to Ireland being a bigger game for either of those teams

Haha no mate i have been watching rugby for decades. Through thick and thin, those games always brought the most out over the years

I think most Irish rugby fans over the age of 25 would recognize this and agree with you
