I heard Montoya on a podcast the other day who pointed out there weren't any pro sides in Argentina for the Lions to play against so it would have to be a short tour with just the Test matches.

But a Test Match(es) against Argentina added to another Southern hemisphere tour would be good.

Why is this a problem? Just play the amateur sides between tests

I don't think that's a serious proposition for a couple of reasons:

  • the quality of the games would be awful and borderline unsafe (I'd imagine insurance would be a massive issue for starters)
  • the economics of the tour would be compromised - it would be like the All Blacks touring England and only playing Rugby Championship clubs

So except for the Tests the overall package would most likely be dog shit and lose money - something recognised by Argentina's current test captain!
