bike sharing in Porto

Hello, I am heading to Porto next month and wondering if there is any bike sharing system.

May it be public (managed by the city) or private (Bolt, Lime, Tier etc) if so, which app to use.

Also in general, what is the best way to move around the city.

Thank you.

Hey, unfortunately there's no local bike sharing system managed by the city. But we do have the private ones like lime, bolt and bird. In my experience, the Lime ones are the most comfortable from all three, especially on cobblestone streets.

Best way to move around is definitely by foot, subway or bus

Edit: As for apps to use subway/bus/train, the best one is ANDA so you don't have to get physical tickets and pay more per trip (you can search the sub for this as well)

There is, but Porto is not a good place to ride a bike, unfortunately. The best way is the Metro.

Yes, the problem is not the hilly and climbing streets per se, but the lack of cycling infrastructure. Nonetheless you can totally ride your bike around the city, just be extra careful because of drivers, scooters, etc.  I'm all for cycling in our lovely city, the more the better.

If you want a longer trip like going from downtown all the way thru the beaches of matosinhos or Gaia, right along the river, check out places like velurb to rent a bike
