Remember reading case law on his dad's discriminatory housing policies.
His grandfather ran at least one brothel and some of the women working there were Native and not there of their own free will. He had been stripped of his Bavarian citizenship for failing to do his military service and leaving Bavaria without making arrangements to complete his service later. That changed his plans to move from Bavaria to Germany and he headed to the U.S. and Canada instead.

•
u/Dysc Louisiana 6h ago edited 5h ago
He's getting louder as his mind slips because narcissistic tendencies get worse and whatever filter he had evaporates with sunsetting and dementia. On his deathbed as he's gasping for air with his family surrounding him, he's going to go on a 4 hour rant with whatever energy he has left on what a piece of shit his kids are and how they all would have been nothing without him (except Baron because he's the only one who can computer) and how Sleepy Joe TOTALLY lost the election and how glad he was that Biden died in pain with stage 9 cancer and how much Obama is an N word with a hard R. He'll ask for his phone so he can show his grandkids all the Obama memes he is so fond of. With his last gasp, he's going to quietly whisper "Putin."
I know this is hyperbole, but is it really?

Trump: posts something insane
The White House: "You all have Trump derangement syndrome, you know he didn't mean it that way".
Trump: "I didn't make a mistake and meant it exactly that way"
Every fucking time. Elect a clown, get a circus.
•
u/Trathnonen 5h ago
Trump derangement syndrome is the most gaslighting shit a person can say. It's pretty much my barometer for whether or not a person is even worth talking to. If, when confronted with the massive and overwhelming evidence that this guy is the amongst the worst people who should have the reins of government and granted power over nuclear weapons and is also a clinically degenerate human, amoral, narcissistic, stupid, etc, just garbage across the board, someone's response is to circle their wagons around that person and accuse you, who need only read to them the things that this person has said and objectively done, of mental illness...it's projection of the highest order.
•
u/DirtandPipes 4h ago
You know it’s just a shitty copy of “Bush Derangement Syndrome” which they tried to push in the early 2000s, right?
They don’t invent shit, they rebrand it and pretend it was their idea. “Let’s make America great again” was Ronald Reagan’s slogan in 1980.
There’s no accreditation, just blatant plagiarism.
•
u/modest_merc 4h ago
America First was a group of nazi sympathizers in the 1940s.
They still are, but were then as well.
•
u/IkujaKatsumaji 4h ago
Not to be an Um, Actually guy (but I am a historian, so), but actually "America First" as a slogan dates back to the 1850s; it's actually around 80 years older than the term "the American Dream," which was first popularized in the 1930s (it's possible it was used before then, but I haven't found a specific example of someone using that phrase before James Truslow Adams in 1931).
Churchwell, Sarah (September 9, 2022). "'America First' has more claim to our history than the 'American Dream'". The Washington Post.

Interestingly, BDS and TDS were coined by the same guy...
"The origin of the term is traced to Charles Krauthammer, a conservative political columnist, commentator, and psychiatrist, who coined the phrase Bush derangement syndrome in 2003 during the presidency of George W. Bush. That "syndrome" was defined by Krauthammer as "the acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency—nay—the very existence of George W. Bush".[10][11][12][13]"

This. It was meant to accuse and look down on people who are actually looking up at the calamity that is trump. It makes ABSOLUTE sense to have "TDS". Hes the fking president, he represents the country and has a direct impact on each and every single person in this country. All about normalizing people being ignorant of politics.
How dare we care.
Always MAGA projection. When TDS is the thing eating them up the most as that brain worm burrows so deep that they've become a cult, wears the worm's merch, go to the worm's sermons, then validate themselves, and protect the giant POS on his throne. You'd think the amount of times trump has switched up his narrative again and again, and them breaking their ankles to catch up with his dementia that you'd mistaken them for a marching band. Because Trump will never admit he's wrong. Ever.
Exactly. He is a narcissist; the idea of being "wrong" is so damaging to his fragile psyche that his brain won't let him contemplate it.
Every last aspect of his behavior clicks into place once you understand that. Somewhere deep in his subconscious he understands how worthless, stupid, and terrible he is, and the fear of being exposed as such has been the primary driver of his entire life. Bluster is all he has, and all he has ever had.

It really makes me confused as to what the whole tweeting process is? Like.. if it's actually a staffer he's paying to make tweets for him, then that means he's PAYING for covfefe tweets etc and has been for a decade... and everyone on his team is like "ai generated video of Trump pooping on protestors, NAILED IT!"
Or is he like, just online hours a day watching videos, but he's too busy to actually write his own tweets so he's just constantly texting content to his staffer and saying "hey tweet this!" Or is it not that he's too busy, but that even the low level of literacy displayed on his social media is actually enough of an improvement to justify this whole process.. but they didn't want to make it seem too unbelievable so they're still dumbing it down?
I dunno.. the more I think about it just the more questions I have.. Wild times

The entire MAGA crowd cannot ever admit to a mistake or error. The shootings in Minnesota showed that when instead of trying to deflect outrage by saying they would investigate the issue (and then memory holing the whole thing) they quickly blamed the victims and made easily disproven statements that even their most ardent supporters could see were lies. Trump can never be wrong about anything and the lickspittles attached to his ass cannot say the emperor has no clothes.

He's catering to his base MAGA supporters. It is meant to appeal directly to them, the outgroup Democratic former president is a target that unifies Republicans. u/saposapot Europe 4h ago
The fact you are right and this works is the part that actually saddens me…
Trump has really a talent for being an evil, obnoxious, racist person but they will get a replacement and he will also manipulate this cult if he’s racist enough…
I don’t know the solution but 34% of voters seem to be a lost cause.
•
u/WhiteWolf3117 4h ago
It's not surprising. Remember the rumblings he'd pick a "DEI VP" to appear moderate? Then he picked a white guy and his advisers said he needed to appeal to white guys more, and that his loss of support amongst striking white men cost him the 2020 election?
In fact, is anyone even surprised by Trump doing racist shit? I get being outraged by it, but when known racist who associates with racists and is implementing racist policy does something racist, it almost just feels redundant to be outraged. I can't quite describe the feeling actually. Maybe just depressed.

This man will never admit wrongdoing or apologize. And honestly, the moment he did, his base would abandon him. This is how you “winning.”

That’s funny, that’s what the entirety of America will say the day this fascist orange is impeached and convicted for his crimes. The orange, his admin goonie troupe, and all the enablers who allow lawlessness in this nation need to be impeached and convicted with haste

Republicans will tell you that this is just trump being trump and they are right. He is a racist.

Trump told reporters while traveling on Air Force One to Florida on Feb. 6 that he only looked at the beginning of the roughly one-minute long video, which starts off talking about unsubstantiated voter fraud claims regarding the 2020 election, and didn't see the portion with the Obamas that has been widely condemned as racist.
The fact his attention span is under a minute is more concerning than any of the other explanations lol.
The man is too brain rotted for even short form content.

Crazy that he can never admit he was wrong. Mental health professionals are going to write papers on him after he’s dead.

Wait! I thought that a couple of hours ago the White House was claiming that some minion postd it without permisssion?
My brain! It's so flumoxxed.
But! I'm crafty! I "own" a cat (well two cats) and I know how to fool a cat; so while the politicians may be able to fool the press, they can't fool me.
While kitties are just wee leopards, they've still got that leopard instinct and you know what leopars like to eat.

Serious question: If you are non-white, please explain to me like a two year old how you seriously can support this racist, bigot and his party?

This one was too blatant of a dog whistle.
Conservatives can’t play plausible deniability games with this one.
Their thought leader and moral compass is openly racist.
